Forthcoming Madonna Album: Rumors, Speculation and Discussion

Recommended Posts

^ That would be interesting, but GMAYL had a sort of retro girl group/60s vibe and that didn't go over very well.

Yeah, but screw commercialism, she can afford to go all artistic if she wants. She's already toyed with the look, the sound, the dance over the years, like at the end of Justify My Love in the Girlie Show, those 60s moves......60s hairstyle in the Smirnoff opening, the Nancy Sinatra like Gang Bang, the Gainsbourg Je T'aime performance, even one of the Versace photoshoots with the shot against the pram. How great it would be if she could pull off a cohesive 60s project, something like Emma Bunton's album (obviously better produced, and maybe mashed with current sounds, like Now I'm Following You) ...

Go 60s Madonna! It would be so awesome if she had a grand Bob Fosse type choreography in a music video to match.

One of my favorite albums is Saint Etienne's Good Humor , entirely 60s melancholic pop, would be overjoyed if Madonna came up with some 60's sounds, but fresh, in her own Madonna way.

I've never seen that pic in your siggy before. Looks like it's from 94/95 Bedtime Stories era?

Lets hope it aint a "black" album. A more inteligent adult dance (think COADF: in collab with Daft Punk, Nile and/or Pharrel) mixed with solid ballads (think You ll See, I ll Remember, Frozen, Live To Tell in collab with Leonard/Joe Henry) would be a heaven.

with videos directed by David Fincher & Jean Baptiste Mondino

Well, I meant go over well both among fans and the public. It wasn't a big hit, and it was also crap.

She's got all in her hands for a amazing cocktail, something dance, something pop, something black, something slow, something trance, make it good, and from my side make it completly secret until the very last day, no pretentions, lots of power... and please do work in some promotion, work for your baby not taking everything for granted, even if she definetely has the status to do it.

Promotion is this era bitch, whenever and however it comes

nice said!

On a side note what the heck happened to her Revolution of Love? Its seems to have gone nowhere.

I thought she was going to get a bunch of other high name celebs to join her and stuff and kind of create a snowball effect with it? I haven't heard a thing about it in months.

The last time I looked she had chosen David Blaine to curate submitted works for December. David Blaine? Talk about a random personality choice. The press weren't interested at the launch but it's good that it's still going. She will build up a body of work that retrospectively will be really impressive. This won't be some whim that's forgotten like gaga's bowel revolution. Other projects will tie in with it.

I just hope the new album is just more pop without the trashy euro pop and b-sides thrown in. She needs to drop being down with the kids but I doubt she will.

I approve this message.

But I'd ass Rick Rubin as producer, too, if not nothing else but for quality control. Have you seen the Dixie Chicks documentary "Shut Up And Sing" (or whatever it was called)? It's funny when he tells them to rewrite the lyrics. Basically, he told them that the lyrics were utter crap although he did it in a much more polite way, LOL.

I just want new music

:lmao: Chelle, love your catchphrase of "I just want new music"

It is up there with Pud's " more, more more' and Sloane's one word description of Gaga that begins with the letter C.

She can do all sorts of dance music that's not EDM. Dance is not only EDM.

Still want to see her go back and play with house sounds ala 90s M - esp. like the remix of "Bedtime Story" she did at the Brits - but with a modern sensibility. I'll never give up on house/trancedonna.

And as I said in the other BGO thread...I would love some funk/old-school sounds.

Anyway, that's my two cents. Like Chelle, I just want new music.

I like the idea of "13" as a title, but I can already see the media declaring it "unlucky #13."

I don't see any logic of hiring the Daft Punk knockoff Mirwais to work on an album with Daft Punk. I suspect that if the Daft Punk thing does work out, we'll see Pharrell involved. And I wouldn't be opposed to that since his tracks were some of my favorites on HC.

Producers: Daft Punk, Pharrell, Klaus Ahlund or some other up-and-coming producer

Songwriters: Patrick Leonard, Pharrell, Daft Punk, Joe Henry
