She has ALWAYS said she has a small group of friends that she trusts to bounce ideas off of. Back in the day, we can all guess who those people were. Once she married Guy, it was him, and the results were obviously mixed. So it makes perfect sense that she would rely, at least partly, on Lola, whom she's very close with. I would even venture to say she would call her her best friend at this point. It's fairly obvious to me that she's influenced by her daughter. Hell, Lola started raiding her closet and wearing her old '80s-inspired looks and M followed suit shortly after. As for Guy, he's really not in the music business anymore.
