Which unreleased songs/bonus tracks should have been on the regular disc? Which songs shouldn't?

Best Friend can be a B-side to a single and Party Rock Remix can be included with the GMAYL promo single.

If it was my personal taste I would change Girl Gone Wild with Beautiful Killer for a single but I think the latter would fare better with the public. GGW has already become huge for M just as the tour open which did it justice.

Gang Bang would be useless as a proper single but I HATE to see it go to waste so I would love it to be a promo single with a video at some stage (when I'm not sure!)(edit: or performed on tv/awards show etc as part of a medley with one of the singles)

Love Spent (MDNA Tour Acoustic)

The track list follows a certain "darkness to light" arrangement. Start with her descent into hell (GGW), the followed by other songs refering to guns, death with a rather darker tone. Then, it follows in with the more personal and sentimental ballad track, culminating with Masterpiece, pretty much summing up the quality of MDNA.

The bonus track consist of the most infantile songs: the forgettable, yet enjoyable ones. Instead of including the crap Auto-tune "acoustic" remix, i think it would be better to use a version similar to the one used during the MDNA Tour. Its much more stripped back and showcases Madonna underrated vocals.

I"m not sure what the exact changes should have been, but I agree that BK should have been included on the first disc and superstar should have been on the second. I even think I fucked up (great pop tune) should have been included somewhere on the first disc.

Love Spent Acoustic should have definitely made the bonus diso. Also-- I saw on the japaenese bonus disc for MDNA that GGW Justin Cognito edit was listed. That would have been an awesome mix to be included.

I really love the story that this album tells in any incarnation though. It's the most raw that Madonna has been since Like A Prayer, regardless of what anyone thinks of the lyrics, production or perceived success/failure of the album.

I looked up this original track list and is the only way I can enjoy the album from start to finish. (Minus B-day song, plus Best Friend at the end) it has an organic flow that's lacking in the released version. It separates the album into "chapters" that to me tell a cohesive story:

From GGW to IDGA

The hurt, angry and aggressive section

I want to kill you (GB) and I still love you (IA) but fuck you I don't care (IDGA)

That is basically the transgression section from the tour

From TUTR to Superstar

The peppy section, although its only happy on the surface. TUTR is about scaping a shitty situation(see previous 5 dongs), GMAYL is about calling out the lesser "divas" and Superstar to me is not meant to be taken literally, it's more like how crazy stupid we can get when we fall in love, and where it may lead you.

From IAS to BF

After putting up a brave front in the 1st "chapter" in this one M shows how sad she really is about the whole divorce.

Masterpiece, FF and LS

These songs show how sad she may be, but also how hopefull. She doesn't "renounce hope" she feels "free to go" and calls out a greedy cunt.

But then again she feels violated (BK) regretful (IFU) and mournful (BF)

I may like some songs more that the others, but as a whole they all play off of each other really well. I feel like I'm taking a peek into the queens' diary.

That's my interpretation of the album as a whole.

I agree with this as well as your general interpretation of the album. It very much is the journey from dark to light that Madonna described the tour as. It's like a story, more so than any other album in the past decade. The bitter, brokenhearted woman who's angry at the man that wronged her that tries to escape her sorrows by desperately chasing love before realizing she doesn't need that to be happy and learns to let it go. It's really beautiful. And the music is great too, so that helps.

It really is a beautiful piece of work. We got so caught up in the poor single choices ( which Im sure it won't matter what she releases, it's not going to chart) the NTP and what not. The fact that they jumbled up the track list didnt help. The Super Bowl! The tour announcement! Smirnoff contest!! It was so much going on. I really appreciate the album more now without all the distractions.
