Nicky Minaj Talks Madonna.

Hip-hop sensation Nicky Minaj adresses the Lil’ Kim beef on The Angie Martinez Show.

Kim accused Minaj of copying her every move, and even wrote on her facebook page “Why are you so obsessed with me”.

It was time for Minaj to answer, mentioning Madonna in the process…

“If you can’t beat them join them. We all take from each other. Nothing is new under the sun.

When you see Gaga, you see Madonna… but Madonna never hated on Gaga.

Why in the black communities we got to hate on each other instead of saying ‘thank you for showing me love’ or ‘thank you for keeping my name alive’?”

Is that why she did that diss song about Kim?

Here's a vid of her saying it.

Skip to 5:20 to here the Madge plug.

In this vid Nikki looks like "yes" and Kim looks like "no". :o

(If you're referring to Roman's Revenge) That song was response to Kim's frequent disses.

Little Kimberly lit the fuse and Nicki merely replied to her.

Yeah I know that but if you're all about not spreading hate in the black community and whatnot then why sink down to her level? The song just perpetuates that culture.

That's what I like about Madonna - doesn't say anything even remotely negative about her rivals and they end up forgotten / with egg on their faces.

There's always a bitter Kim fan when Nicki gets brought up. Must be hard.

Nicki also mentioned Madonna in 'Girls Fall Like Dominoes' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BpAEmtR7-c

She has somewhat of a point but I hate the way she's acting like feuds and disagreements are something that only happens within the black community. Have we forgotten about Christina being negative towards Britney, Pink being negative towards Christina, and Madonna being negative towards Mariah? She's not one to talk either due to her frequent disses towards female rappers before any of them came at her which is something she never wants to address. She's just being a smart business woman and putting her one sided version of the story out there and of course all of her fans will eat it up like it's the gospel.

She made general, sweeping statements about other rappers. ALL rappers do that.

As for her making this seem like it's exclusive to the black community... IT IS. Xtina and the other pop sluts have all dissed one another, but THEY DO NOT make diss records/ entire songs about their enemies. rappers do that. Shania Twain is not releasing a mixtape about Reba. Lastly, she does have the right to talk about unity among female rappers, just like Keys and Kim had the right to diss her. She is just following the same route we've seen before.

Sounds like she says "rocking Galliano" in the line that's two after the Madonna reference above... Yay for a Madonna mention -- assuming it's positive, anyway.

All rappers do not make diss tracks. There are a ton of rappers who were creative enough to build their careers on substance and didn't have to resort to making sweeping statements about other rappers. Lauryn Hill and Queen Latifah did just fine.

Feuds are also not exclusive to the black community and I don't know how as a black person you would even entertain that idea. The situation Nicki Minaj is speaking about in the article above is based on comments Lil Kim made about her in an interview. I don't see how that's any different from Christina Aguilera and the other women I mentioned giving less than stellar opinions on other women in the business. This situation did not spill over into mixtapes, there were also no songs made until Nicki made one. That's also something not exclusive to the black community. Wasn't Eminem dissing people left and right on his songs? Christina Aguilera even made a response record. Nicki Minaj just really doesn't have much of a point here.

That's cute that you think I disagree with Nicki Minaj because I'm a "Kim fan" but that's not the case. Lil Kim isn't even one of my favorite artists. I'm not passionate about any female rappers music. Until I see one of these girls paying my bills defending any of them is out of the question. It's very possible that I just simply don't agree with Nicki Minaj.

...and Madonna being negative towards Mariah?

Did she?

If you're talking about Madge rather die than being Mimi, She was being negative. She was given 2 choices (ONLY) to choose either to die or to be Mimi, since she doesn't wanna be someone else, she'd chosen death instead.

And during HC era, some shit stirrers were trying to make her say something bad about Mimi's K=FC2, Madge said she liked her new album and mentioned nothing negative.

There are fueds in all forms of entertainment; I said that DISS RECORDS are exclusive to the black community/ the hip-hop community. Pop stars, country singers, and folk musicians do not build careers off of insulting their perrs, which rappers can do and have done. Most rappers DO proclaim their superiority over other rappers. (in the 80's, in the 90's, and now.) That's part of the hip-hop mentaility: "Hey! Buy my album cuz' I'm the best, point, blank, period."

Queen Latifah is a positive example of a female rapper, and although she never dissed anyone directly, she too made general, sweeping statements about her competition. She DID boast about her lyrical superiority, just like YoYo and many others did. As for Lauryn Hill, she's the exception. She remained humble... but where is she now?

Anyway, Nicki Minaj is jsut some chick claiming she's the better than other chicks. No big deal.

That's how most of this stuff starts. These journalist ask women about other female artists trying to stir up drama and unfortunately a lot of them take the bait.

That's great that you're referring to diss records but the situation Nicki Minaj is talking about consisted of interviews until she made a record so it's no different than the typical diva behavior. I don't appreciate her throwing "the black community" under the bus because she can't get along with other women in the industry.
