INSPIRED BY THE GOODFELLAS THREAD & my longing 4 Madonna in a new starring role *sigh*

Actor who got the part: Geena Davis---> She got in a ugly fight with the director (=scheduling conflicts), weren't there some

hostile faxes of her towards Joe Roth, I remember her saying something about who could play a motherless italian chick better than me & u r one to talk after the cinematic masterpiece that is ''Revenge Of The Nerds II'.

Actor who got the part: Kim Greist

Breaking the Waves

Writer/director Lars Von Trier wanted Madonna to be in the lead. He wrote the film with her on his mind. He sent the script to her but didn't get any response from her. He didn't know why so he moved on.

Actor who got the part: Emily Watson ----->Really????

Casino

Madonna was considered for the role of Ginger in Casino.

Actor who got the part: Sharon Stone

Chicago

Was set to play "Velma Kelly" but moved on to do other projects like "The Next Best Thing" and her Drowned World tour.

Actor who got the part: Meryl Streep ---> I thought Madonna quit due to 'creative differences'

Madonna was up for the Bette Midler part they were unable to come to contract terms.

That was always false, Burton said so. The ONLY other woman in line for that was Annett Benning, who was originally cast but had to drop out because she got pregnant. Thank God, Michelle was perfect.

As for Frida, remember when JENNIFER LOPEZ wanted to play it so badly :rotfl: love you Henny, but as if bitch :rotfl:. Salma and her hairy face were so perfect mmm hmmm.

boxing helena

The LAST thing she needed was to be a part of that mess

I heard she was sent a script for the role of crystal in Showgirls though.

M was supposed to be up for Cristal and Drew Barrymore was up for Nomi :rotfl: the director has spoken about casting those roles though and never mentioned either of those women, so i doubt it was true. Madonna was just attached to it because she was a whore most likely

Although all Showgirls needed was a bit of Madonna  so much trashy camp fuckery the screen would have exploded :rotfl:

Pretty Woman was false.

They were NEVER going to have an ACTUAL whorey sex symbol play a whore  they needed a girl next door with a giant innocent smile like Ghoulia so we would feel for her. Madonna working the streets and finding a rich man to fall in love with would have been hilarious though.

Wasn't she supposed to play Rachel Marron in The Bodyguard but got turned down after making fun of Kevin Costner in Truth Or Dare ?

I have no idea actually, I don't think the director was mentioned during the interview. She talked about it in the spanish interview (when she performed live Drowned World and The Power Of Goodbye)

I always assumed it was finally made as this:

The Door in the Floor (2004)

“Madonna really wanted to do the part,” Williams said. “I wasn’t really even considering her, but I called her in because I just wanted to meet Madonna.”

So how was it?

“It was a strange meeting,” he says. “She asked me about techniques, how all the shots would happen in the movie.”

such a shame, she could've been a genuine movie star with the titles listed, but instead she wound up one of Hollywood's biggest jokes.

I've heard rumors that she was considered for two Jonathan Demme movies, Something Wild (Melanie Griffith got the part) and Married To The Mob (Michelle Pfeiffer got the part).

I think you're right... I cannot believe Meryl won for Kramer Vs. Kramer in 1979 when Madonna played Bruna the same year in A Certain Sacrifice :scared:

I don't think Madonna's as terrible as she's made out, but Meryl pretty much deserves a doctorette in acting.

The all time classic. Would she have to have done a Scottish accent? :fag:

I'm not sure if even Lars Von Trier would have got a good performance out of her. Sure, that ugly annoying dog Bjorkle was good, but Von Trier is known for being particularly abrasive. Madonna + other volatile personality don't mix. I think Von Trier wanted to humiliate her and take her down a peg cause he's known for having a thing against women. But then she already had her own Von Trier figure with Abel Ferrara in Snake Eyes. :fag:

Pretty much what she already got before starring in movies.
