Cheeky girl: Madonna unveils another makeover with puffy 'pillow' face

By Chris Johnson and Sara Nathan

She has often been complimented on her ability to look younger than she is.

And as her latest lover is a man young enough to be her son, Madonna clearly has every intention to ensure she defies the hands of time for as long as possible.

The Queen of reinvention looked like she had had yet another makeover as she flaunted a puffy ‘pillow’ face that hinted at a fresh attempt to turn back time.

The chipmunk look: Madonna may have used fillers to puff out her cheeks

The multi-millionairess, 51, emerged from her favourite London restaurant, Locanda Locatelli, in London’s West End with puffed cheeks reminiscent of a chipmunk and made all the more pronounced by her engine-red lipstick.

It seems that the original Material Girl, now going out with Jesus Luz 28 years her junior, has turned her back on the old way of rejuvenating her face through a too-tight facelift and overdone Botox.

As extreme dieting leads to gaunt, miserable-looking faces, celebrities in their droves have been turning to injectable fillers to help them look fresh-faced again.

Nicole Kidman, Kylie, Michelle Pfeiffer, Meg Ryan, Pamela Anderson and Liz Hurley appear to have been sporting the pillow-faced look for some time.

The most popular fillers - such as the market leader Restylane, Voluma, Juvederm, Hydrafill and the French brand Surgiderm - are made of hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in skin.

Fillers are temporary and last up to a year, and can be dissolved if you don't like the effect.

Non-surgical filler-based treatments such as the Y-lift - invented by New York surgeon Yann Tronkel and offered in London by Dr Jules Nabet - and the Dream Lift, developed by celebrity darling Dr Jean-Louis Sebagh, aim to create the illusion of youth by giving women the high, rounded cheeks of a baby.

And delighted customers soon realise that when their cheeks are filled, slack skin around the jaw is automatically lifted and nose-to-mouth lines vanish.

The seductive thing about these treatments is that celebrities can say, with complete honesty, they haven't had any plastic surgery.

It is also paparazzi-friendly as, a few bruises and some swelling aside, there is no downtime, telltale scars or bandages.

Madonna – who shaved off the years on Thursday night as she showed off her lean legs in a pair of sexy studded Stella McCartney boots - is long believed to have turned to such treatments.

At the 2008 Oscars, the singer managed to look incredibly youthful after being believed to have had a new procedure called 'the ribbon lift'.

The 30-minute treatment, which is available at Beverly Hills clinics for around $6,000 (£4,300), uses a dissolvable ribbon implant to lift neck tissues through a short incision around the earlobe.

It was suggested by experts at the time that Madonna could have been showing telltale signs of the procedure in a photograph taken in the previous month when she was pictured with a very red face.

Madonna's lover Luz was also embracing his youthful side this week, buying an electric skateboard to ride around Rio De Janeiro's Ipanema Beach.

Meanwhile, a care-free Luz put his balance and core strenght to the test on his electric skateboard.

It is powered by a battery and controlled by a hand-held remote control which enables the user to adjust the speed.

Made by Brazilian firm Electroline, the skateboard costs up to £1,660 ($2,690) and has a top speed of 22mph (35kmh).

Once powered up it can be used for up to 1hr 30 mins before it needs recharging.

Luz, who is also a DJ-ing in Brazil alongside his modelling duties, teamed his casual look with sunglasses and listened to music through his headphones as he wheeled around.

Perhaps he was listening to some soundtracks by his cougar girlfriend.

No we didn't get close-ups at Heathrow yesterday, but this was just the previous night.

And it's hard to tell when she's wearing shades.

And lol @ the random skateboard facts.

:lmao: Sort of proves he's her oldest kid doesn't it?

Sounds more like something Rocco should be doing in Central Park.

Lord... another ridiculous cheek thread. So old. Anyway...

One, it is a bad picture.

Two, I think she looks older in that picture, not younger. She almost looks grandma-ish in it... with a full face.

Three, those veins have been there for years. And like with everyone, certain looks, instances and even environmental instances, brings them out more if not the wrong or right lighting. However you choose to look at it.

Finally, she's embarking on 52. No doubt, she's injected something in her face to give a fuller round face as in previous years her face was looking quite frail. She also looks like she wants to appear to have a more full figure without actually having to put on weight much while continuing to maintain in sculpting her body. But eventually, age and wear and tear will start showing more and more as she gets older. So while her face may look refresh for years to come, her body will not be able to maintain the same physical and youthful glow as she's been trying to keep. However, she will always look younger than her age and will probably be more fit than most 50 and 60 year olds.

The photo looks terribly - stretched - too, they love making fun of her face, hands, etc. Lets face it, she's not 23 anymore, she's going to get older and older looking right before our eyes even though I think she'd done a great job of maintaining her looks there's going to be a lot more horrible pics coming in the near future - how is she going to look when she's 60!!! Be prepared all, that's life as opposed to the alternative, I say good for her - she still looks great and sounds great.

does anyone know if there is anything she can do to deflate this cheeks for once? :|

All she has to do is stop injecting filler into them. DUH.

Are there people out there who actually believe she sliced her face open, and had implants put in? :lmao:

LOL i love the fans discussing it at allaboutmadonna.com :lmao:

"100% improvement of what she looked like on the Haiti Telethon. She def looks better with softer hair color and deflated cheeks."

"Deflated cheeks? Do you think she has an at-home pump to puff and deflate them on a daily basis? :rotfl: They look the same for a few years now. Everyone just needs to get over it."

look, i adore her fake, plastic, puffy cheeks cause I love her - no matter what she does- just cause its M; but to the hater or casual fan, they must think shes looks like a house of horrors now lol. She still looked totally natural, youthful like "classic M" up until around 2007 (even if she did SOME shit, it was subtle), then right around the R&R Hall Of Fame/ early 2008, it became beyond blatant she was doing more than "some subtle things to her face" lmao

I think she looks amazing. The cheeks reversed time(if she had them at all). She looks amazing! By the way, whenever she had fuller face her eyes looked smaller - check Erotica days.

Something looks "stretched" to me in that picture or photoshopped. She sure didn't look like that during the Haiti telethon or in any other paparrazi pics since. Some people are so desperate to make up stories to sell themselves and/or who are always wanting to bring her down. Sad and sad that her own fans do it to her too.
