I HOPE it happens. It will mean she has to sing live probably. Get the old vocal chords going (yes I know she sings all the time on tour). How exciting. I guess that means a Madonna special too no, with them all singing her songs?

It must be true by the way -they clearly now share a cheek specialist..

(Just joking -Madonna's face looks stunning now)

um... she can have given the ok to a project without having literally signed on yet.. whats the big deal?

Simon has asked her and she has said yes... that's where these stories are coming from.

After she has signed on the dotted line then it will be confirmed..

Two months before Xmas is not exactly right before Christmas.

However I don't understand the distate for these shows. These ridiculous notion that pop music is not commercial and the music industry is dumbed down by these "puppets" is so lame. There have been producer controlled singers since the dawn of the music industry. Hello Motown. Its just actually visible there. Talent is talent and if someone can sing then hell go for it and get out there however way you can. The cream will rise and if they aren't worth the hype they will float away (I'm looking at you Reuben Studdard). Its not Madonna whoring herself out or selling out either. Everyone complains if she doesn't do promo and then she does promo and everyone complains that she's selling out. Ridiculous.

You said it. There have been 'hit factories' ever since the dawn of music. Motown, PWL, Max Martin and the rest of those swedish people... In fact, one could argue that AI style shows help showcase TRUU TALENTS with BIG VOICES instead of style over substance acts like Britney, Lady GaGa or even Madonna herself. It's paranoid and absolutely hysterical to claim that these shows are the DOWNFALL OF TRUU MUSIC especially since good music is out there for everyone to hear if they do a bit of searching, especially in the internet age.

The report is slightly contradictory in that it states 1st November but then it says ITV are planning to move the final to another venue, big enough to accommodate her - the final isn't until mid-December. I also read yesterday that they'd considered changing the venue for the live shows of this series but couldn't afford to. My preference would be for her to do the final.

why anyone would be appalled at her doing such a show is beyond me - business sense aside, if anyone has made it primarily on the X factor, it's Madonna.

Oh and LOL at her being impressed by the JLS video - it's about the standard we've come to expect from her of late. :lmao:

Exclusive Images - Simon Cowell seen today in London walking out of Dr Kimmy Lipper clinic. Madonna's former plastic surgeon, Simon's whole face has collapsed, They have removed his whole jaw leaving flabby skin. Dr Klein Refresher who owns his own clinic, said he "Simon's lips will inflame bigger than Beyonce hips , he could die". Did Madonna recommend this surgeon to Simon? If so, Madonna will most likely not preforming at this years X-factor final.

Well, there's been absolutely no music to emerge from any of the talent shows that can hold a candle to anything by Motown (or even PWL) in their heyday. But it's not even much about the music with these shows - it's about the mentality of fame being its own reward. Music is nothing more than a means for attaining celebrity and generating income and interest. And for all the argument that it's the audience who choose, they're only able to choose those who are deemed worthy, the ones who fit a certain criteria. It's an illusion of choice. It's not really in the tradition of the classic "hit factories" of yore at all, really - and not just because they haven't spawned that many hits. All the examples cited, even Max Martin, were more about the song than the singer. The talent shows seem to be more of a breeding ground for people who like to sing and aspire to one day being a member of a touring company of a second-run Broadway musical. In addition to being a cynical freak show for the season opening auditioners.

But, it's an established fact that these shows remain inexplicably popular, and so it makes some kind of sense to use and exploit them. If nothing else, they helped Leonard Cohen get some of his money back.

Well yes they are most about the singer than the song. But that's what they claim to be. And they showcase people with some legitimate talent (at least AI is, I don't know about X Factor since it claims to look for just that which is more elusive than just an ability to sing). To be honest, all the screaming and karaoke covers is against everything I stand for but I dont see how they destroy music. And at the end of the day it is just a television product. I don't think it has a big effect on the state of music, apart maybe from producing a few more screamers or sideshow freaks as youo put it who THINK they can belt out.

just how popular is X Factor?

The X Factor is hugely popular it regularly pulls in 15 million viewers making it the highest rated show in the UK.

Strangely tho, when Kylie appeared on the show her dire performance didn't result in a boost in sales of X or her back catalouge.

Erm, it made Wow (a previously unheard album track) go top 5 on iTunes.

Erm, she performed it on the Kylie Show :lmao:

I don't get the point. It went top five after X factor. I'm not here to defend the fucking KYLIE SHOW, which clearly only two gays, a cat and a 12 yr old boy waiting up for the 10 minute free porn preview actually watched.

But OOOOOOOOOH, IDEA!

What if Madonna did something like that.

The "M-Dolla Show" would be cool. Madge Crooning Out old hits & New Tracks.

With Skits too!?????

Mmmmmmmmm. :D

I guess it's inevitable she'll grace that stage but oh well...more promo for "celebration"...it's gonna need that kind of exposure in the US though.
