He's ruling iTunes. It will be interesting to see what the charts will look like in the up and coming weeks. I can imagine that the record industry is probably frantic right now, pushing back slated releases so that they aren't overshadowed by his catalog.

Chris Moyles, Radio 1's breakfast DJ played Man in the Mirror and it started appearing in iTunes top 100 almost instantly.

I suspect the top ten will look very different next Sunday!

Definitely next week there will be hoardes of entries in the charts, probably a few of the bigger hits this week too.

Is Man In The Mirror "the chosen one" merely because of the Chris Moyles effect? Didn't think it was one of his more popular singles, only peaked at number 21 on first release.

For the chart boffs, there are now 9 MJ tracks in the Top 40 on UK iTunes. MITM up to #7, could very likely be the 1100th UK number one. :wow: NEVER seen anything like this to happen to the single charts in this country. Chart purists are arguing it makes a mockery of the current system, when so many old MJ tracks will obliterate the official Top 10 in the next few weeks. But this is a one-off so see no need to change the rules AGAIN.

Incredible with just one day of impact, the gains compared to one week ago. Keep in mind that these totals don't take into account some formats like 80s-oriented channels, Rhythmic AC, etc.

I've listed tracks with 100+ spins in the last week. I think I got them all- if I missed one, let me know. (I've combined solo and Jackson 5/Jacksons tracks)

Looks like he's dominating Amazon too

Michael Jackson Rules Entire Top 15 on Amazon Album Chart

Michael Jackson is experiencing the celebrity popularity death bump in an incredible way. On Amazon's top 15 best selling compact discs, The King of Pop is living up to his name as he has each of the top 15 best selling albums on the popular website. His Mp3's are also selling a staggering pace.

The top selling album on the site is currently the 25th anniversary edition of Thriller which was a reworking of 1983's top selling album that hit stores last year. His other legendary albums are also in the top 10 including #2 Off the Wall and #3 Bad with compilations of his greatest hits right behind those two popular albums.

well, everything it´s normal, he has an incredible back catalogue.I´m happy to see that man in the mirror is "the chosen one" as somebody has posted. After all the things that surrounded his music, the song that people are buying the most is one without him on the video, cheap...a great song, people are buying a great song

It's a very well known classic track. Bad had sold so much in the UK by the time Man In The Mirror came out, that it would never do well in the chart. Not to mention that there was no proper video...

I heard that Amazon's stock of MJ music product was GONE.

everything says 'ships in 1-3 weeks'.

a few of his albums available used are starting to go for decent $ (do people think they will never be able to get them again?)

So I know that his albums cannot rechart on the Top 200, but can his singles reappear on the Hot 100 between the digital sales and airplay? If so he will likely dominate the chart next week.

His songs aren't being actively promoted, so, no, they won't chart on the Hot 100. He will dominate Hot 100 Recurrent Singles, though.

which I think is a crock, he deserves to rechart on both the hot 100 and Albums chart. Somehow I think BEP wouldn't mind if MJ knocked them out for a week or two, if anything, they'd probably support the idea since MJ was such an important artist.
