Ciccone's Cheeks
by the way, looks like Britneys "3" was moved up a week (to Nov 9th)- so she and Leona may be going at it the same week. Is there any other noteworthy competition/ new releases that same week?

debord
Oh dear, it really is rather tragic how the people who were ‘predicting’ (read: hoping) that it would miss number one, and then that it would plummet out of the top ten, are now grasping desperately onto it declining this week. A week when there are 7 new entries above it and 2 albums that have tv appearances pushing them up. Of course they were thrilled that she spent a month in the top 3, right? RIGHT? No, cos they only care about gloating and looking ‘right’.

fak
Madonna wanted to be big on the charts and she tred everything to have hits. She was a publicity seeker and stll is, but now more for personal reasons. Why has she released a GH with the strapline 34 songs that changed the world (in reality 0 did although some were very influential on pop culture) and not expect it to go anywhere? I think she will be disappointed if this ends up selling less than GHV2. If she gets out and promotes it the album will easily go 4 x platinum but at this rate it might not even go platinum. The only way the album will hold or climb is promo. It could very easily get lost in the Xmas rush.
fak
Top 5? It sounds like an album track! just went to you tube to hear that Cheryl song for the 1st time. All I can say is yawn lol - what exactly about this song is making it SUCH a monster? It's a bit catchy and frothy- that's it. Really not at ALL that epic to be selling much as it is lol. totally sounds like a passable, top 5 kind of song.
Ciccone's Cheeks
im sorry, but overall record sales everywhere are just beyong hideous unlesss your're a reeeeally hot NEW act w/ at least 2 mega smash singles (lady gaga), pass away like an MJ, or are part of a SMALL select few who have been around a while but happen to have albums that become growers (Beyonce, Pink etc..).But those are getting even more rare. Its basically a singles market again. Someone like M will continue to have way better chart success and peaks - 1st few weeks just cause of who she is - than album sales - unless she has a Hung Up like 1st single. If she pumps out 4m like 1st singles, the album will become useless/ waste of money to loons and causal fans. comparing a sh*t GH like GHV2 (which is now EIGHT years old but more like 20 years w/ the changes in the record biz) to Celebration is apples and oranges in every way. HolidayGuy
I really don't know what people expect from an album that contains a good amount of tracks that are on one of the UK's best-selling albums of all time? Nevermind that it came in at No. 1 and has sold decently enough (given circumstances), and that it probably will end the year with a decent total. SInce Spears' last compilation- just four years ago- was hardly a blockbuster, I imagine the updated one won't be, either.

Brisy_Boy
Wow! Madonna is holding on well. Falling from #03 to #14 in 5º week it's not bad at all. Only 2 other albums have more time than her ahead of her (Fleetood Mac don't count as they are a new entry and their weeks on chart are old... not sure what happened... special edition?). Other 2 have the same number of weeks too. It stayed 4 weeks on TOP 3 and was a #01 album! Is doing great... now it's time to start thinking about doing some promo and release second single. 6 new entries on TOP 10... most will free fall next week... as there will be more new releases... Look at #01 last week free falling to #12 on second week on the charts... falls also 11 places... Look at #02 last week free fall to #08 on second week on the charts... when the single continues at #03 enjoying a lot of success (compared to Celebration single)... Shakira outch... it must hurt a lot free falling from #04 to #28 on the second week on the chart!!! That's a kind of flop... but she can always say it's a UK TOP 5 album... Talked about new Rammstein album and The Very Best from Alison Moyet both are TOP 20 entries... but behind "Celebration" Barbra Streisend... that was released the week after Celebration knocked Madonna from the #01 spot free falled from #07 to #26 spending only 3 weeks on TOP 10... Madonna is doing great on UK chart! Comparing to all the other recent releases it's certainly one of the best chart runs. I Wish she could have had the same chart run in US too... And... she will be back up the chart as Revolver will be release and Warner will certainly do some promo ads to get some Christmas sales.
FedFed
I don't think that they will release Revolver or maybe an esclusive Euro promo? For sure not in Usa!!!! She doesn't care Warner even less why we should?
