Can anyone name the instances where a lead Madonna single has outsold the parent album like in the case of HC?

Never happened. When she had a flop album (Erotica, BS, AL), the singles were flops too. The download era changed everything.

There is a chance Who's That Girl (single) sold more than Who's That Girl (album).

Miles Away was played earlier today on Radio 2 - the DJ was saying it was apt considering her marital woes! Hopefully that will mean it will achieve more plays.

This is gonna TANK - I reckon she'll be relegated to the realms of acts who are big on the concert circuit with the new LiveNation deal - she'll have the odd hit single occasionally but the HC era has proved she's no longer relevant as a recording artist.

You're right, having one of the biggest selling albums of the year showed that she may as well pack it in.

No major changes in the Friday midweeks - X Factor and Pink at the top (apparently the gap between Pink and Snow Patrol has increased), still no Dido in the Top 40...

I have to say I hate Pink - is she big with dykes or something.

Haven't heard Duldo's song yet but I don't like her voice - she should stick to writing for others.

Guest mmmm

do you think if madonna did more of the classic 'you'll see' type songs she'd sell as many records?

obviously the young people wouldn't necessarily buy a single like that in the millions, as they did with 4 Minutes, but would it maybe appeal more to the adult album buying market?

mind you, selling 3 million + albums in this day and age can't really be sniffed at.

There's better stuff on the album than this track and they've left it way too long for single number 3. She only makes new albums so she doesn't have to tour all her old stuff, not because she's inspired.

I think she likes to make new music, but maybe this time had another things (too) in her mind, maybe she was less focused

:lmao: SO jaded. Love it! :lmao:

P.S. If S&S gets an American broadcast, does anyone think any of the terrestrials will pick it up after the FLOP ratings of CT on Channel Four?

It's her Ballads album, she's stalling in the top20 but, thanks to the BALLAD  All I Want For Christmas (which is included) it will probably sell well next december.

The Ballads original name was Love Songs which is really a more appropriate tittle.

Not sure about that, but its very weird. Her Tour would be more successful if people knew the new songs. She should promote them too.

I agree, but I have the feeling she will promote her next album a lot

I suppose that Hero :vomit: will be top 5 next week.

Most likely as they only need 110k to overtake 4M.
