But don't say thnx when you CLEARLY don't mean it. Sarcasm is not a nice quality.

But I can be sarcastic too.

"give it 2 me" is not dead yet. it may be struggling, but its not over yet. if madonna was like most people, she would have quit already. if madonna hasn't quit yet, why should we quit on supporting this song. stations that are supposedly playing "beat goes on" are only hurting "give it 2 me". right now "give it 2 me" is at the point of being added to the biggest stations in the u.s. all it needs to do is break into the top 40 in airplay. isn't it supposedly at #46(top 50)? i say we all continue to do our best. why quit now?

I'm sorry but this is pathetic. The song is basically stalling and has been for the past few weeks!

It's obviously not rising is it.

Then why did you ask:

IS GIVE IT TO ME FLOPPING or is it still rising?

If it was THAT obvious, you'd have known it before this update, since it certainly didn't change much.

Fine you're right. IN any case, watch this single have the most airplay longevity of them all. lol. It will probably be stuck at 700-900 spins and 1-2-3 AI for the next several months.

I'd honestly say move on to the next single whatever that is, but no one knows yet, and this song REFUSES to just die.

Hell, 4Minutes is still on the charts. it's not dead yet.

This song was pretty much almost dead on arrival, and it's just done.

And BTW, checking on Madonna's chart history, she hasn't really been radio's "darling" since the early 90s really, and it's 2008 now.

Sure she's had a hit here or there every several years, but the majority of her singles underperform, and more flop than hit.

So isn't is safe to say already that Madonna is OVER in the US?

I personally think that if it wasn't for Madonna's little electronica re-invention with ROL/MUSIC....this would have happened after Evita sometime. That era revived her career, but that era is now passe too. So what we're seeing is, exactly what would have inevitably happened. Aging, same-old-Madonna, gets tired, radio loses interest public loses interest, and that's that.

If she wants to remain relevant she's going to have to reinvent herself in interesting and innovative ways.

She's going to have to pull Cher's Believe with every album to pretty much stay relevant, but she doesn't want to, she doesn't have to,

and perhaps she's not capable of that.

4Minutes succeeded because of its sound, Justin/Timbaland. Madonna tried to make herself as YOUNG as humanly possible and as hip as possible, to make the song passable to American radio, and it worked, but radio and the public were still aware that this was a 50 year old woman, and that it could have been a disaster, but it somehow worked.

That's why Give it 2 Me is being ignored. It's 50 yo woman, singing another random song. NO one cares and no one can relate to it.

How can people relate to give it 2 me???? How?? I can't.

Beat Goes On is a bit more radio friendly , and so is devil.

Madonna really needs to do something out of this world again.

She did it with ROL and it was an uber success, and then that's it. Music was just a boring, slow, 10-track album, then she had more flop movies, boring and uninspired images, the travesty that was American Life, then she went on to DISCO....

I mean does anyone expect anything different????

Radio is about NEW and young, but if Madonna produces something FRESH and INTERESTING,....it will get played.

4M worked but was NOT fresh.

Give it 2 me is not as good as 4M.

When I first heard Cher's BELIEVE, I didn't even know who CHER WAS. I was young. I LOVED the song, and kept playing it and bought the remixes, and then saw this woman,....didn't look too old or too bad, just very overdone, then I learned that she was 50 something, and I'm like wow,....this song is so hot, go her. It had the vocoder which was somewhat new at the time, and I tihnk her song was the first mainstream hit song that had the use of the vocoder.

It was a gorgeous and beautiful song.

Madonna needs something big like that. Hung Up kind of was, Music kind of was, 4Minutes wasn't

and GIVE it 2 me,

CLEARLY ISN'T.

well, you're partially right but until Die Another Day, she always have that very huge first 2 weeks of airplay everytime she has a new song... even that isn't happening anymore, except for 4 Minutes which some posters may not classify as a MADONNA radio hit...

Which version of the song are they playing on the radio ?

Are they playing the album version, or the one w/o the "get stupid" part ?

They're playing the version WITH the get stupd part but its alot shorter than the album version, and I haven't heard it on the radio much at all.

Thanks God I'm in Europe.

I do relate to Give It 2 Me! And being #02 on the Eurocharts means a lot of other European people do too.

I just can't get why American Radio doesn't give a chance to Madonna... 4 Minutes was Madonna and Justin... and I'm sure that really helped it to be played in US...

Im in Europe too, and I can say that GI2M is a weak single, its nothing special,

if she is number 2 in Eurocharts is because in Europe is very difficult for local artists to get to the top places and therefore in the overall sales or airplay, English-speaking worldwide famous artists will be on top.
