Guest boytoyville
I guess I'm not suprised about the UK sales thus far given it's the most Euro friendly album but I really think that Give it to Me could pick it up in the Uk market or at least stablize it. Queen Bitch
I'm amazed that BS is her biggest selling single of the 90s - I though it did around 395k in total. I do remember it being *the* hit of the summer of 99 though. The low sales of Vogue also surprise me as it's one of her most memorable hits that didn't come from a massive selling album. I've always suspected the widely available US import CD singles, which had a much better tracklist than the UK one have something to do with it. A bit of a trivia: Which was the best selling Madonna single of the 90's? Answer right after this break, sponsored by Sugus. 1. Beautiful Stranger - around 500k I think - had a good chart run in the top ten and single sales were very good in '99 - opened with 140k 2. Frozen - 480k? - opened with 200k but didn't maintain sales as well as BS 3. Vogue - 440k? - single sales were shit in 1990 as CD singles had not taken off - her best chart performing single of the 90s. 4. Most likely You'll See - 350k ish 5. Don't Cry.... - 300k ish? Queen Bitch
I'm sure I saw a list that had DCFMA above YS and I'm also sure I saw Frozen with over 500,000 sales - it's sales would have tailed off due to the album taking off instantly and continuing to sell steadily for the next year or so. Guest Hafo
The Top 3 are correct, although estimated sales are around 5% lower (BS is at 465K). I think American Pie might sneak into the Top 5, time to do some research... Absolutely gobsmacked that 4M is still #3 in singles! Hope HC hasn't fallen beyond #
doctorjosh
Looks like 4M is turning out to be a real stayer. Maybe the July release of GI2M is not a bad idea after all. 4M could well spend another month in the top 10.
