Guest
I was really hoping the album re-entered the British charts when M was here at the 02 last month but it kinda didn't Nevertheless, nice to see that a few countries are picking it up again! kangarooz
Has this already been posted? If not from drownedmadonna. ''Hard Candy sold last week another 5.500 copies ww, 233.000 so far in 2009, for a total of 3.461.000 since its release!''

There was absolutely no chart action for Madonna after the UK dates, which just shows TIC prominence is not all that anymore and people are no longer buying it in the UK whenever she does something. Nightshade
I'm somewhat disappointed in Norway. All the other Scandinavian countries sent Hard Candy back into the Top 20 (at least). But nothing from the Kingdom of Norway.

Nightshade
Hard Candy 3xPLATINUM IN RUSSIA! (600.000 copies) Hasn't it been 3x platinum for awhile? And isn't 3x platinum in Russia only 60,000? Where is Hafo to back me up? By the way, HC re-enters Hungary's album chart this week at #23. Still GOLD certified.

I don't know, I saw a number somewhere for another act that sold 3xPlatinum in Russia and it said it was 600.000 copies... actually it does make sense since Russia has like 140 million people, 60.000 would be quite little? Here in Sweden (9 million people) 1x Platinum is 40.000... on the other hand certifications never really make sense so.. I don't know.. Someone who knows if accurate platinum in Russia is 200.000 or 20.000? 20.000 just seems so little though..

For international acts: Gold: 10,000 Platinum: 20,000 Diamond: 60,000 So 600,000 would be 10 x Diamond. EDIT: It sold 60,000, which is Diamond, or 3 x Platinum. So that is why certifications (official sales) are so low. According to the posters at UKMix, Hard Candy was certified 3x platinum in Russia in December 2008 for sales of 60,000 copies - 15,000 of which were imports. I wouldn't be surprised if it eventually earns a 4x certification since "Beat Goes On" was a moderate airplay hit there this summer and she toured in St. Petersburg in August. Now I get it! funny how it's so much more for local acts?? The numbers I saw (3xPlatinum) was for a local singer and it said 600.000 copies so basically for international acts it's 10% of the sales the local acts need to sell to get the same certification.. kind of weird I know there's a big piracy market in Russia... but how come the local acts doesn't get "copied" as much? sniper
The numbers I saw (3xPlatinum) was for a local singer and it said 600.000 copies yep I remember it was 200.000 for 1xP a few monthes in 2006. before 2006 it was 300.000 now it is 100.000 I know there's a big piracy market in Russia... but how come the local acts doesn't get "copied" as much? 1. Russia is rather patriotic country we had several 500.000-1.500.000 sellers (legal copies) last years: albums by Dima Bilan (Eurovision 2008 winner), Zemfira, Maksim 2. The price average price for domestic albums: 4$ average price for international albums (local release): 7-8$ 3. 80-90% of international albums don't get the release on the day of the world release. Hard Candy was released in july 2008 (2 monthes after the world release). it was just import copies from Warner Germany in may and june in the stores (25$, 15.000 had been sold). Local company aka Warner Russia get more money with this strategy even the market was full of pirated copies (4$) in may and june. thats why pirates prefer copy international albums and their legal sales are not so great
