Guest americana madonna
I think that what is holding this single back is that the radio edit it's cut short, I mean the break down is missing and to me that was the growing part of the song. yeah, i think radio should at least try the album cut, it wouldn't kill them to do that. the album version feels short enough. i don't think any madonna song should ever be edited shorter

mtzlplk
this week it will be Leona, i really feel that Madonna has a shot next week or the week after the sales period for this week is very promising for MADONNA... even with 20k cumulative sales from the remixes will help a great deal... this week: USHER will have no more room or very little room for airplay growth... MARIAH is sinking faster than the Titanic... LEONA is fast waning in the downloads, whatever her airplay gains - which will be a little since she's almost maxed out in POP - will be offset by sales loss... SPARKS is also fast dwindling in sales that any airplay gain left will be offset by sales fall... With MADONNA maintaining sales this week and little growth in airplay, she can fight off LIL WAYNE for the #1 spot in the chart reported for next week... a week at #1 is all we need... eroticromance
well, half million is better than nothing. We need 50-55 mill AI next week + 240-250k downloads. Everybody let's download!
mtzlplk
so 4M's best (and, probably, only) shot at #1 will be next week... because of the remixes? it's just the start... her chances will last until the week of the album release
air1975
Yes - I believe so. I think after next week it will be really hard for Madonna to take the top spot. The reason is that by the time the album is released, 4M will have already sold about a million downloads. So, I don't think the 4M downloads will be huge the week of the album release (since most people will already have teh song). Also she is not doing any promo that week either. I think this next week is the best shot. (Leona's downloads will decline, Mumu will decline, No Air's downloads will decline too). Hopefully with the extra bump from the remixes she can pass the rest. This is the most important week for us to support her by requesting and by buying the remixes. so 4M's best (and, probably, only) shot at #1 will be next week... because of the remixes? mtzlplk
But Touch My Body's downloads will probably increase this week... yeah, although minor rebound... it may do around 140k-150k this week, the TMB album sales in iTunes and the Seamus Remixes will contribute to it... But fret not, I see MADONNA selling around 225k minimum this week (praying for 240k)... those 10 remixes and 4M EP will be counted together with that #1 4M.... Skin
But the sad thing is its not just her. Dance/Pop songs in general (at least ones sung by white artists) are not having an easy go at radio which is just sad on all levels. Somone mentioned that at this point they wouldnt mind another huge teen pop explosion, and part of me is starting to agree.
Dickens
Somone mentioned that at this point they wouldnt mind another huge teen pop explosion, and part of me is starting to agree. I already do agree! In my view, teen pop is light years better than hip hop, even though I am not a fan of either genre. Indeed, I have never heard any hip hop song that I prefer to "Step by Step" or "I Want It That Way."
Skin
I asked this before but I dont think I got an anwser. The other big artist I could compare Madonna to in terms of having limits to what formats they get played on is Pink since she would pretty much get the same formats as Madonna, so what was the peak of U + Ur Hand and Who Knew?
