Guest Bad Robot
Just so you know guys, streaming a radio station online doesn't count towards the Hot 100. Audio streaming refers to Yahoo and AOL, and radio audience impressions are calculated using the station's ratings, which are measured via samples of people. mr_boogiewoogie
26 million already? Wow! This is really amazing! And she has not even made a single phone call to any of these radio stations to introduce the song. Zero promotion! This is starting to look very good. Fingers crossed for a great second week! air1975
Won't gains decrease significantly on tomorrow's update, since they will be compared to last Monday's numbers (when the song had already debuted?)

Guest Bad Robot
Won't gains decrease significantly on tomorrow's update, since they will be compared to last Monday's numbers (when the song had already debuted?) Yes. So, everyone, please be prepared to see a much smaller gain tomorrow, or even the possibility of a small loss. At this point, 5-10m audience impression growth over the course of 7 days should be considered strong.
GOD
Ok can someon explain again why it will lose gains tomorrow?
Guest Bad Robot
Let's say a song is increasing such that its aud imps are 0.2 more every day than the day before. On the first day it is at radio, its 7 day total will look like this: 0 0 0 0 0 0 3.0 = 3.0 total On it's second day, it would be 0 0 0 0 0 3.0 3.2 = 6.2 total etc. Each day you'd be seeing a weekly total that goes up by 3-4m. 6th day would be 0 3.0 3.2 3.4 3.6 3.8 4.0 = 21.0 total On it's 7th day, it will be: 3.0 3.2 3.4 3.6 3.8 4.0 4.2 = 25.2 total On the 8th day, you'll see: 3.2 3.4 3.6 3.8 4.0 4.2 4.4 = 26.6 total Thus, at first it looks like you've slowed down dramatically (from +4.2m to only +1.4m), but in reality it's growing just as quickly as before, it's just that you are no longer comparing days with airplay to days with no airplay. Does that clarify?

Guest Topaz Scorpio
My friend told me he finally heard it today on Mix 98.5 here in Boston (He listens to the station all day while working). I believe the station has a Hot AC classification.
Guest Bad Robot
I gotta say, that +2463 spin increase at pop alone is the biggest I think I've ever seen on Mediabase. There have probably been bigger jumps but I'm not sure what!
