:manson::manson::manson: please stop being delusional...you are completely ignorant of the UK chart....in order 4M to sell more than 100.000 it must sell at least 80.000-90.000 on physical (and I am choosing an unrealistic scenario that her digital sales remain constant) which is clearly IMPOSSIBLE....4M is heading for the region of 16.000 sales this week (it seems that the digital sales are falling each week since the digital release)...so by the physical release , the most probable case is that the digital sales will be around 8000...even on the best case scenario physical sales will be 40.000-50.000 (which is huge number in the current physical market) and that would give Madge a top3 position (a no1 is not out of the question although it is quite difficult)

HU had first week physical sales of 105.128..and HU was light years bigger hit in the UK..it was released in the holiday period (where sales are in general higher) and the physical market then was still healthy...so claiming that 4M will reach equivalent sales is unrealistic and delusion

I agree with you.

As if a record not liked my many of her hardcore fans is going to sell 100k first week. I expect it will have first week sales of around 40-50k in total, which is still pretty good.

This could be enough for number 1 though. It all depends on what else is around it. Estelle will have declined by then but it seems new big download singles are springing up regularly now.

For me personally, I won't be buying it and I have bought all of her singles since Vogue. I have already downloaded it and I already am bored by it after 5 plays.

Actually I follow those charts since 1993 or something... I know lately I'm a little more off the board but I come to check the charts and sales at least twice a month... on the dotmusic times I had more time and I was arround everyday... unfortunally work is too much lately but on a Madonna release I can't help myself and come here even if I have to sleep only 3 hours per night ;)

Now I will explain why I wrote that :

- "4 Minutes" have a Picture Disc and 3 different physical singles to get to chart released on first week

- "Hung Up" had 2 released on first week...

- "4 Minutes" features Justin Timberlake... even on the cover... and the cheaper version is 1,99£

- "4 Minutes" remixes will surely be availables for download too

- "4 Minutes" will get to non-fans after video release... believe it will be massive among non-fans... It was tested ;)

- Promo the week before the album release will surely be HUGE and she will surely some promo in UK during that week as the single release date on the rest of europe will be 14th April

"Music" did 115.00 based on 2 references Physical sales only...

"Hung Up" did 105.000 based on 2 references Physical sales only...

"4 Minutes" can realistic do 100.000 based on 3 references Physical singles and downloads on the week of physical single release and that remixes go on-sale...

I maybe am too optimistic but believe me that if it doesn't get that kind of number won't be that far... WARNER MUSIC UK is really working on making this song a MEGAHIT and a UK #01!

By the way... it's #04 at UK iTunes now... and #01 at 7digital... also #03 at HMV download charts... it's holding on pretty well on dowload charts... and the video is only having its premiere on TV on Monday!

Down 3 to number 8 in today's single chart. They better get the video out quick as imagine the headlines if it continues to slide. The media don't care that the average member of the public doesn't understand the ever changing impact of downloads.

No it's not. It premieres worldwide on tv tomorrow, and Warner is still hunting the youtube links down.
