I've never heard of it happening before, but it has dropped from Radio 2's A list to nowhere at all!!! I can only assume it's to make way for the album being their Album of the Week next week. Whatever the reason, it's bloody odd. I mean, was airplay on every other station really that bad that Siouxise can sneak into the Top 100 based on a few plays (which I am DELIGHTED about, incidentally), whereas Annie slips right out ... Last week she slipped into the 60's as Radio 2 diminished plays, and then off the chart entirely this week as they've dropped her. Mika was actually at #29 last week. It's either the most brilliantly calculated plan ever or Annie and/or her record company have royally fucked off every radio station in the country over the last two weeks. I doubt the album will miss the top ten because there has been much more of a fuss made of it than over "Bare" but, when this campaign started, I really thought it had a shot at number one, and that is looking unlikely now. "Dark Road" does carry that another one of these from Miss Lennox?.... baggage, but to see it do this poorly is shocking. I hope this means her record co is planning a massive push for that "Sing" remix at the 'hip' stations. His voice has no personality, and he has all the charisma of a Top Man salesperson. I guess he's good looking to some, but I saw his "sexy" video this morning and it made me want to hurl.
