Always liked this - she put her own personal spin on a very well known song; always a good idea if doing a cover version...
though the editing of the video is interesting; the disappearing (then reappearing) tiara
-
Quite ironic really that RC chose to do a piece on 'Everybody' given the recent sad passing of it's producer Mark Kamins.
In hindsight nice tribute.
-
you mean she's not doing "One More Chance" *again*??
-
end of the day - touring is where the money is to be made these days...

By the way, here is the stuff Madonna Express Yourself originally posted on FB that William Orbit was responding to, if you all want some context to his rant:
'Give Me All Your Luvin' the single peaked at number 39 The album MDNA, despite reaching number 1 in the UK album chart on it's first week, has now disappeared out of the UK top 40 within 6 weeks!
factually incorrect - GMAYL #37 and MDNA still top 40 this week on it's 8th week
-
I think it's a great track - be perfect UK single material imo...
whenever I have an espresso MDNA moment on the go I'm finding I plump for 'I'm A Sinner', "I'm Addicted' and 'Turn Up the Radio'
great lyrics too - including:
"Hail Mary, full of grace
Get down on your knees and pray
Jesus Christ, hanging on the cross
Died for our sins, it's such a loss"
happy easter y'all!!

all the clips thus far...

I wouldn't really mind waiting until later 2011 for a new album. As long as what she delivers is amazing I can wait.
shall we pencil an album in for september 2011??
-
thanks for the link
nice to hear 'out-takes'
David Foster era, a collaborative period to 'buy' back US radio??
from that same period - 'You'll See' a real gem
but 'One More Chance'? my least favourite M UK released single...ever, ever ever....
-
another re-invention for another decade. wow. if she does a dance-rock album, won't it sound like "human" by the killers?
but that would mean teaming up with stuart price again?!?
-
Promotion will be the KEY to its success.
TIC was number 1 for 9 weeks, it was the biggest selling album of 1990 and the seventh biggest selling album of 1991.
completely irrelevant...timescale wise...1990 vs 2009?? so much has changed surely?
-
Which is pretty meaningless because the biggest opening so far this year has been 166,000 for the Eminem album that was hugely hyped. If M does do X Factor as rumoured, and with Christmas approaching, 'Celebration''s biggest one-week sales are still to come. But I guess because they wouldn't be as high as 200,000 you'd call that a 'flop'.
exactly. re eminem...which has gone on to 'only' sell 366,900 copies (currently ranks UK #10 of 2009)
-
Same here!!!
ALL the complaints about the selected songs in the past 2 months was wrong IMO. This tracklist is BEST!
*agreed*
couple 'new' songs as well...tracklisting is good imo, well maybe apart from perhaps inclusion of 'Take A Bow' and 'Miles Away'...and the omission (as always) of 'True Blue' - the 7" single remix, which i believe has never appeared on CD?
-
Some Aussie poof at another forum said some of the tracks on the GH aren't remastered?
sticker on UK 2CD states:
'Digitally re-mastered from the original tapes!'
mmm not sure thats a selling point? betamax or vhs tapes?
-
On Madonnnalicious, the following credit errors are noted, in addition to the LIB one:
- William Orbit is credited for production on La Isla Bonita (along with Madonna and Patrick Leonard, strangely) and Die Another Day (instead of Mirwais).
- On the songwriting credits for Dress You Up, 'Andrea LaRusso' has now become 'Andrew LaRusso'.
- And in the songwriting credits for Celebration, 'Ciaran Gribbin' is now 'Ciarian Gribbin'.
'Beautiful Stranger' credited as written by Madonna/Patrick Leonard...instead of William Orbit
'Die Another Die' credited as produced by Madonna/William Orbit...instead of Mirwais
and 'Cherish' produced by Madonna & Patrick Leonardt (with a t!) - guess am being really 'picky' now huh?
-
doubt it
it sank here in the UK too (chart/sales wise)
AL has not aged well at all and let's not even get into that 'rap'!!
-
I agree. Cool song for a GH compilation. This single doesn't have the HIT potential of a first single for a new album. Maybe I'm wrong.
agreed...job done...something new to assist the GH album - generally i like Oakenfold, so kinda helps too
-
Who cares?
It's going to be HUGE all over the world.
exactly....the US of where?
it's a 'throwaway' single to help a Greatest Hits album...no biggee (sic) really
-
^^ re being reported either way....
only reference able to find via wikipedia, so hardly 100%....
"Madonna was asked to take part, but she declined because of commitments for tour preparations."
