  1. I unfollowed Salim (SLAM) from BAT for smugly giving love and support to the Texas Governor for lifting all restrictions and mask mandates in his insta stories. The lack of empathy for the greater good always saddens me. He felt so compelled to use his platform for that.

Will never understand the poor and working class being cult supporters of Trump. They truly believe he is looking after them like this caller does. He has brought in huge tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans while refusing to lift the minimum wage. He supports white supremacy and he has a long history of under paying and not paying his workers.  He is only president  because he loves the attention and power.  Yet, the people that are in his cult say they will die for him.  I can see the very wealthy people loving him as his policies help them enormously and they are selfishly and wrongly  just looking out for their own financial interests but he is not a friend of the poor or working class.

It mostly simply, and sadly, comes down to abortion. The narrative or PRO-LIFE for the evangelical trumps (sorry pun) everything else. Abortion, and gay marriage to a lesser degree, are the rallying cries of the current Republican party/evangelical Christian right. It is that and that only in many cases. Nothing will change their minds.

Some of the "sweetest" people I know think the Democrats kill babies and for that, they will always vote Trump/Republican.

To me personally, her vocals on most of Madame X lack the usual emotion and warmth that is so special and incredible. I think she is easily one of the most naturally emotive and clear singers ever. Her voice is beautiful and full of emotion and feeling without any hysterics or going wildly off melody. Why I have not loved this album as much as previous Madonna albums because I don’t get that emotion in a lot of the songs that I usually do.

    No.

I'm a teacher and I'm terrified to go back to work. I work in a low income community that was a covid hot spot. My district wants to reopen with in person instruction. It will be impossible to teach Kindergarten with all the restrictions in place. I have called out my local union publicly because they have gone silent, but with the fuss I caused the other day they agreed to a meeting. They were able to hear all of our concerns and the president of the union has stated to the governor that schools are not ready to open in the fall. Even if they do a hybrid schedule, I  will have to teach kids in person and virtually at the same time. I can't imagine that working at all. It will not be possible to follow our current curriculum the way it is if students must social distance and not work in groups. Teachers are resigning and retiring early that's how bad it has become. I don't know what to do other than keep speaking out and making my concerns heard. Parents in the district are refusing to bring their children back to school so hopefully the school board hears them as well. I wish I knew the plan or have idea of what they have in mind in order to list my grievances.

Sounds like you are advocating strongly for yourself, especially with your union. GOOD JOB! Stay well. I wouldn't want to do in person instruction either.

  5. CRAZY - classic Madonna lyrics and melody - on par with some of her greatest hits

COME ALIVE - absolutely elevated by the live performance, which was a highlight of the MX Tour.

CRAVE (by far my least favorite song on the album) - I like this song, but it actually feels like the only song on MX that doesn't match the rest of the album. I suspect it was the last song recorded in an effort to give Interscope a more commercial single.

Also, the best "C" song on MADAME X is - CIAO BELLA!

Did I just read that Medellin should have been remixed by a top 40 producer because Mirwais is too experimental? :manson:

Madonna crafted a new level of music album with Madame X. A musical journey. An statement from a music legend, touching topics such as guns, women rights in Africa, an LGTB+ empowerment anthem. A rich variety of sounds and stunning visuals. Are we really complaining about how radio friendly is it? Of course IS NOT AND NEVER WAS intended to be radio friendly. Madonna herself blocked that possibility, creating structures aimed to music art and not vapid radio stations. The only reason why she promoted Medellin with Maluma was to let the widest amount of people know that she had a new album out.

Sometimes I feel we don't deserve her.

    We do not. Bless you.

She also continues to tour her ALBUMS and not her hits, which reinforces the clear notion that commercial success isn't her primary focus...at all.

It sounds like a very strategic and safe reopening unlike how bars in NYC opened over the weekend. Bars served drinks as take out orders but people hung out in the streets outside the bars causing over crowding and some bars even let people in to drink. People were not practicing social distancing and wearing masks either. The stupidity and ignorance of people in general is to blame, but also political leaders such as Cuomo and DeBlahsio who are not making masks and social distancing mandatory instead just saying that people should be safe and let the animals out of their cages. I've seen videos from Italy and from what I've seen people seem to be wearing masks and respecting the rules in public spaces. The US at the moment doesn't seem to understand.

I'm amazed in Los Angeles, where masks outside the home are mandatory, they are not worn. I'd say at least 50% of those jogging and walking and working and biking on my street have no face covering. You are more likely to be made fun of for wearing the mask.
