  1. *much obsess* :crazy:

    The tour is enormously and astonishingly successful on many levels, and surely making many other artists (*cough* Mariah *cough*) in the industry very envious of Madonna's success, I don't understand why there's so much nitpicking and faults with the tour being blown out of proportion here. I don't know understand how a show that had 98.2% of the tickets sold and higher grosses than nearly every arena show on the tour (including NY and London) is considered bad. There always room for improvement (more promo, doing more shows, touring in more countries, singing more "classics", dancing more, having nicer hair, less this, more that, blahblahblah) but perfection is never achieved. Especially with a fastidious fanbase! Madonna is the most successful and adulated female artist in the concert industry. She looks like she's still in the prime of her life on stage. There will come a day (hopefully not for a very long time) when she won't be able to do any of this because she'll be too old or dead! You're entitled to be dissatisfied with some things, but lighten up, bask in the success and enjoy the great ride while it's still hot!

    ABSOLUTELY TRUE!

    :clap:

  2. Madonna

    Amsterdam Arena

    Amsterdam, The Netherlands

    Sept. 3-4, 2006

    $11,783,254

    102,330 / 102,330

    2 / 2

    $125.43, $84.47

    All I can say is Wow! More than 50,000 people per night. I didn't know the Amsterdam Arena could hold so many people.

    Madonna

    Horsens Forum Outdoor

    Horsens, Denmark

    Aug. 24, 2006

    $11,435,199

    85,232 / 85,232

    1 / 1

    $514.26, $119.14

    What can we say? That's the equivalent of four nights at Wembley. She worked her ass off on stage for only two hours but earned as much as if she had worked her ass off for eight hours. Ain't that genius? I bet this is the highest gross ever for a single date, ain't it?

    Madonna

    Palais Omnisports Bercy

    Paris, France

    Aug. 27-28, 30-31, 2006

    $9,145,832

    67,758 / 67,758

    4 / 4

    $206.06, $78.07

    Paris is just cheap! She should have charged those crazy queens a lot more! ;-)

    Madonna

    Sazka Arena

    Prague, Czech Republic

    Sept. 6-7, 2006

    $5,861,668

    37,666 / 38,342

    0 / 2

    $227.11, $55.53

    What can we say here? First of all I wan't expecting her to play in front of almost 19,000 people per night. Second of all the average ticket price for these gigs was 155 USD. If she keeps at least the same level for the Japan gigs and if she sells out all four of them, she will earn more than 34,000,000 USD from Japan alone. Something tells me that she will end up making more money than that in Japan after all is said and done.

    Madonna

    Niedersachsenstadion

    Hannover, Germany

    Aug. 22, 2006

    $5,218,985

    39,871 / 39,871

    1 / 1

    $211.18, $83.19

    This is another nice surprise.

    This tour is gonna end up with more than $ 213,000,000 and that's just AMAZING! That translates into an average of over $ 3,500,000 per date. Has anyone ever done that before? I don't think so.

    Hopefully Guy and Angela will come out with a very nice press release conciding with the NBC broadcast. Everybody has got to know. The funny thing is that she could have earned even more had the tour schedule been done better. Like someone has stated, had the tour been organized differently, she could have included Australia as well - which would have translated into at least another $ 30,000,000 - and she could have done her London Wembley gigs in late September or early October thus ending the tour in England. It should have gone like this: Rome-Dusseldorf-Hannover-Horsen-Amsterdam-Paris-Prague-Moscow-Osaka-Tokyo-Brisbane-Melbourne-Sidney-Cardiff-London. Instead of ending the tour on September 21, she could have ended it in early October in London, thus not affecting her children's work school schedule.

    This way the tour could have easily grossed a lot more than 250,000,000!

    This lady's definitely got even higher potential. If only she was managed by the right people!

    Finally the thing about the US is that, had she played Atlanta and Washington instead of Hartford and Fresno, she would have grossed more than 89,000,000.

    That of course dosn't take anything away from the amazing achievements of this tour.

    Congratulations to the biggest star on the planet!

  3. By the way, going back to recent Billboard reports for the European shows, I would just like to point out that, as far as the Rome gig is concerned, even though Billboard reported this show as being sold-out with more than 63,000 tickets sold, I can tell you that more than 70,000 tickets were actually sold by the promoter. I know this for a fact.

    This is further demonostration of the fact that the numbers reported by Billboard for sold out shows are just the numbers that Madonna's management and the promoters agreed upon before the tickets went on sale. I guess that in that way even if the promoter ends up selling more tickets, these extra tickets sold will most likely not be reported to Billboard by the promoter/venue.

    The Rome gig is a demonstration of the fact that, even though the number that they had agreed upon was the number reported by Billboard, the promoter ended up putting on sale a higher number of tickets and these extra tickets were all sold. In the end Madonna performed in front of more than 70,000 people instead of the 63,000 reported.

    The [real] total gross for the Rome gig must have surely exceeded 6,000,000 USD after all was said and done. I wonder if any of the extra money made with these additional 7,000 tickets ended in Madonna's pockets.

    Has this phenomenon been experienced at other gigs or venues?

  4. Here are the final totals for the North American leg of Madonna's Confessions Tour. Keep in mind that this is the gross total, not what Madonna herself gets paid.

    $ 7,686,380 LA (Forum)

    $ 7,257,750 Las Vegas

    $ 4,761,555 San Jose

    $ 2,804,583 LA (Staples)

    $ 3,749,800 Fresno

    $ 4,890,090 Phoenix

    $ 9,271,790 Chicago

    $ 5,670,150 Montréal

    $ 3,451,235 Hartford

    $16,507,855 New York OMG!

    $ 6,337,115 Boston

    $ 4,639,775 Philidelphia

    $ 3,246,100 Atlantic City

    $ 5,568,485 Miami

    $85,842,663 North American Total

    posted by torontophoenix

    So much for a no longer relevant artist!

    However, it has to be said that had her management chosen Washington and Atlanta instead of FresNO and Hartford, the North American tour gross would have been even higher and it would have surely gotten VERY close to 90,000,000 dollars.

    In fact both FresNO and Hartford had VERY disappointing and under-par revenues.

    In any case I believe that the final figure still is a record, isn't it?

  5. She put a bad taste in everyone’s mouths when she insulted George Bush. I want her to realize that people are out there fighting for democracy!

    Josh Burmei, 33, real estate

    Fighting for democracy? I think I am going to throw up........ right here right now. :vomit:

    Madonna’s body is ridiculous. But she should have more break dancing on her next album.

    Ricardo otero, 20, break-dancer

    Ridiculous? Hopefully he meant that as a compliment. Weird nonetheless!

    :shoot:

  6. Hafo's comments were right on the money but a few quick notes on Boxscore practices. When a promoter reports to Boxscore they give the base amount of tickets to be sold in contract, and the ultimate figure sold, once the base is met any tickets sold afterwards are tacked on with an automatic "sold-out" (hence besides those sections never put up for sale, those ever present tickets on ticketmaster the hour before the concert starts never being reported as unsold). And though in recent years there's been a bit of bickering over this on certain artists forums, Billboard hasn't exactly made it a secret that their capacity is based on tickets put up for sale by the promoter, not maximum venue seating - which makes it kind of creepy to see some of the fans here obsessing over her "selling-out", it is her third major tour in six years after-all, none of the venues will be breaking fire codes this time around though her bankroll will be. :p She's doing wonderfully, and that's what matters.

    On the Stones thing, don't people ever get sick of seeing them? They & U2 are certainly the all-time overachievers of the biz, I can't imagine anyone loving it that much to go out nearly every fucking year. (Though their love of second legs might make a Madge fan a bit jealous from time to time, if one forgets how grueling her shows are in comparison).

    That's absolutely true. She is indeed doing wonderfully.

    Here's a rundown of approximative figures for upcoming shows:

    July 06 Boston TD Bank Garden - 12,247 (based on Billboard Boxscore 2006)

    July 09 Boston TD Bank Garden - 12,247 (based on Billboard Boxscore 2006)

    July 10 Boston TD Bank Garden - 12,247 (based on Billboard Boxscore 2006)

    July 12 Philadelphia Wachovia Center - 14,874 (based on Billboard Boxscore 2006)

    July 13 Philadelphia Wachovia Center - 14,874 (based on Billboard Boxscore 2006)

    July 16 Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall - 12,322 (based on Billboard Boxscore 2006)

    July 18 New York Madison Square Garden - 14,770 (based on RIT figure 2004)

    July 19 New York Madison Square Garden - 14,770 (based on RIT figure 2004)

    July 22 Miami AmericanAirlines Arena - 15,290 (based on RIT figure 2004)

    July 23 Miami AmericanAirlines Arena - 15,290 (based on RIT figure 2004)

    July 30 Cardiff Millennium Stadium - 60,000 (based on press reports - 57,000 appear to have been sold already)

    Aug. 20 Dusseldorf LTU Arena - 65,000 (based on press reports)

    Aug. 22 Hannover Niedersachsen - 65,000 (based on press reports)

    Aug. 24 Horsens (Denmark) Forum Horsens Outdoor - 85,000 (based on press reports)

    Aug. 27 Paris Bercy Stadium - 17,000 (based on RIT figure 2004)

    Aug. 28 Paris Bercy Stadium - 17,000 (based on RIT figure 2004)

    Aug. 30 Paris Bercy Stadium - 17,000 (based on RIT figure 2004)

    Aug. 31 Paris Bercy Stadium - 17,000 (based on RIT figure 2004)

    Sept. 03 Amsterdam Arena - 45,000 (based on capacity for similar concerts)

    Sept. 04 Amsterdam Arena - 45,000 (based on capacity for similar concerts)

    Sept. 06 Prague Sazka Arena - 18,000 (based on capacity for similar concerts)

    Sept. 07 Prague Sazka Arena - 18,000 (based on capacity for similar concerts)

    Sept. 17 Osaka Dome - 45,000 (based on capacity for similar concerts) to be added

    Sept. 20 Tokyo Dome - 43,449 (based on capacity for Rolling Stones as of Billboard Boxscore)

    Sept. 21 Tokyo Dome - 43,449 (based on capacity for Rolling Stones as of Billboard Boxscore) to be added

    This means that she will have played to at least 1,262,010 people (she has already played to around 295,000 people in the US so far) worldwide after all is said and done and the tour will have grossed in excess of 210,000,000 dollars in just over 60 dates. Plus, we all know that Moscow appears to be happening (if everything works out) and she may end up doing 5 or 6 gigs in Japan, especially if you consider her Japan tour history and the fact that she has not played Japan since 1993.

    So, she really is doing wonderfully.

    I bet every other artist would kill for these numbers.

  7. I recorded her Hung Up performance on video. The file is too big to upload, and most of you've seen a gazillion bootlegs already, so here's the 1st minute which is shot really cool with her humping the boombox ( :whore: ) and you see JR! towards the end of the clip playing with a balloon :D It's too cute and funny! :lmao:

    or here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PCCS8WA3

    p.s. It's a 77MB .mov file! I think it only works with Quicktime Player! If you don't have it, Download it for free from here -link- where it says 'download the free player', and play the file in that player. I'll try to get it converted to a friendlier and smaller-sized mpeg or whatever later on.

    Thank you, Sly!

    This video of yours is just unbelievable! Wow...what an amazing quality!

    Is there any prossibility that you may upload other snippets?

    Her body is just AMAZING! I mean....it truly is out of this world! All I can say is....WOW!

    To me this is the best that she's ever looked! EVER! Those sky-high heels and the way that they enhance her perfect body shape and also those boobs....I mean...just the whole package is again WOW!

    Now I can see why people always try to bring her down because of her age. They are just fucking jealous! How dare she look like that at 48?

    This woman is just her own work of art!

    :clap:

  8. It is quite interesting how much she'll make in NEW YORK, LONDON, PARIS, JAPAN and MOSCOW, the priciest cities still to com in the tour...

    You are forgetting the big stadium shows like Cardiff (60,000 tickets....very high-priced for a stadium), Rome (62,000), Horsens (80,000), the German shows (more than 120,000 total....again very high-prices for stadium), Amsterdam (80,000 total) and Prague (more than 30,000).

    With an average 130,00 Euro per ticket she will rank in more than 55,000,000 Euro's from just the above-mentioned shows.

    Then you have the London shows (very expensive!), Paris, Japan and the big Moscow concert.

    She should end up with close to 100,000,000 Euro's (more than 125,000,000 USD) after all is said and done in Europe and Japan.

    By the time she's done in the US she will have made more than 75,000,000 USD. So there you have it! 200,000,000 USD! Highest grossing tour by a female artist!
