  1. It’s just human behaviors that we’re so accustomed to that’s hard for some of us to grasp—whether through denial or just ignorance—its (pardon the Madonna reference) human nature. Florida spring breakers partying like it’s 1999 spreads it further and take it back home thus spreading it further. Mardi Gras was still celebrated in New Orleans and now it’s a “hot spot” in Louisiana. One person can make a difference in containment or community spread. We are a Social species. This new reality we’re now forced into is difficult to control and reason with billions of people. Not to mention the incompetence and idiocy of some governments’ total lack of immediate action is making it worse, too.

I pray for all that we make it through this through kindness, understanding and empathy. Love is all we need.

Love to all. All to love. 🙏🏻💜🙏🏻

Branson is too busy asking the Government for bail outs...

Billionaires never have done anything except enriching themselves. This crisis won’t change them. They’re just fine. Bezos still putting paywalls on articles in WaPo relating to coronavirus, while others are lifting them. Amazon (Bezos owns that, too) requiring mandatory overtime and their warehouse is filthy and workers are starting to test positive. Bezos does nothing.

Can someone explain why so many celebrities are testing positive? Out of 7 billion people in the world how can so many famous people be positive? Is it possible most of us have it already? They do travel a lot so maybe being in different areas and around so many people could have caused it?

Maybe celebrities get way more news coverage than the rest of us?

This is what I thought when Idris Elbow posted about testing positive. He said "he had no symptoms."   So i was thinking why he got tested and why they would waste a testing kit on him.

The wealthy take care of their own first! Everyone else pffft! 🤬

I’ve also decided to limit myself in readinf Corona news, even tho its everywhere. I figured updating about it 24/7 isn’t going to you any good, just makes you anxious more.

    Be safe. Cyber hugs. ((Hugs))

Bless you.  I should hopefully be OK, my flight from Krabi on Friday morning is still going ahead, my connecting flight in Doha was cancelled and I’ve been transferred to one a few hours later.  Hopefully that’s the only change.  I feel fortunate that I was due to leave on Friday anyaway, some people here are scrambling to buy flights right now.

I’m just getting increasingly anxious to get home tbh (and I’m highly strung on a normal day!).

Safe travels and be well. 🙏🏻

  7. I’ve been holed up at home for over a week now. Did my grocery shopping over a three day period the week before, because I’m petite and have a bad back. (No hoarding!) So far no cases here, but a neighbor told me of a nearby parochial school and a Christian University who went to Italy against everyone’s warnings. So I’m sure it’s here, but how can we know since there’s no testing!?

I live alone with my kitty. But it’s scary as hell dealing with this by myself.

I’ve had a low grade fever for 6 days and some other issues which don’t match coronavirus—but still unsettling. It’s like it’s been one long panic attack since. I’ve been doing chores and watching some DVDs and of course, listening to Madonna on shuffle. I happened to hear Lovesong the other day and it really took me back. Lovely relief for a few moments.

I wish everyone good luck, patience and let’s all send out positive, healing vibes to the world. Heaven knows, we could all use some!

    Positive Energy Everyone! 💜

I've been thinking (mainly because I'm at home and there's only so much you can do) and I think that maybe countries like Spain, Italy and France are having more cases because we use to greet each other with kisses?

Also, I read that it's recommended to be careful with the soles of our shoes, as the virus can be there for hours (I haven't fact checked this). And we don't use to take off our shoes when we get home, whereas the rest of Europe seems to do more usually?

Sorry if my post seems silly but I'm going out of my mind at home

Thanks for the info. I’ve had panic attacks out the wazoo. *sprays Lysol on carpet/shoes*

because, as I said earlier, they think it's an "old" or "weak" peoples illness and don't seem to give a shit about infecting others. smh.

Abject stupidity! Young people do often have the belief they are infallible and  will live forever. I was young once. I remember that feeling, too. It’s just the opposite when you get to 60....and beyond.

  10. This really underscores the USA is being further plunged towards a third world country. It’s The only “developed” country with no universal healthcare for it’s citizens. And with a moron for our BLOTUS, and all his PSYCOPANTS (sic) fawning all over him, we will be hit especially hard by this virus harder because of his lack of everything needed for a real president to help the people—not just his “people”. Time will tell in these next few weeks and months how bad the USA is going to be affected. Capitalism in the USA just got punched hard with this crisis and we were vulnerable long ago because government has been bought off by & for the rich & corporations. They get bailed out, never the ones who really need help.

Oh and BLOTUS was tested for coronavirus and his “doctor” says it’s negative. Which says to me, it’s really prolly positive, because they lie all the time about his health. Ivanka is in “self-quarantine”. What’s that tell you? They’re all prolly infected! Look who they’ve been hanging with? Maralago is a stationary Petri dish, many testing positive for the virus. And BLOTUS was right there amongst these people. How can he not have it? Time will tell.

This is a complete fucking nightmare, I feel like I'm dreaming. When I wake up in the morning and reality hits me I feel like crying. I can't believe this is the world right now. I'm so fucking scared for everyone.

You’re not alone there. I stocked up—Didn’t hoard but too angst-ridden to even eat. Have an intermittent low-grade fever for about 5 days, never getting over 100 (F). It’s really strange. I feel okay, except for my fear. Trying to listen to Madonna and stay positive. 💜

Please take care of yourselves and each other. 🙏🏻

Coronavirus: Arthritis drug seems to work

(ANSA) - Rome, March 11 - A commonly used arthritis drug has shown "excellent results" in two coronavirus patients and a national protocol for its extensive use against the virus should be drawn up, oncologist Paolo Ascierto of Naples' Pascale Hospital said Wednesday. The drug, tocilizumab, "has shown it is effective against pneumonia caused by COVID-29," he said. One of the two patients will be taken off life support Thursday because of the improvement in his condition, Ascierto said.
He called for a "national protocol to immediately extend the use of tocilizumab in an emergency that has killed 631 people and infected over 10,000 in Italy".
Ascierto said the hospital had started treating two other patients with the virus on Tuesday and will begin treating another two Wednesday.

What do you think?  Even Cuomo who has been one of the most sensible in terms of steps isn't telling you that Manhattan likely has 100k infections already.

But on the other hand saying "we should have been told earlier" or "they should have shut everything down" is easy to say now, but all those mass shutdowns just caused a lot of people mass unemployment.  Those Broadway workers may have trouble paying the rent or have trouble buying food.  Those airline workers are being laid off left and right.  A lot of restaurants, especially small ones or ones in high rent areas, are closing by the day.

This isn't the panic.  The "mass hysteria" 2 weeks ago wasn't the panic.  This is people preparing to lock themselves in their homes to WFH if at all possible for the foreseeable future because your fellow Americans just cannot be trusted to exercise any basic common sense or follow any rules, regardless of what ANY politician on either side would have told you or has told you.

See Missouri idiot dad who took his daughter to a school dance while waiting for test results despite being told to self-quarantine.  See JetBlue passenger who deliberately got on a flight and only informed the airline at the end that he just received a positive test text just before boarding and is now banned from the airline for life.  See idiotic fellow people on this board and elsewhere who are still going to go on that cruise or take that $50 spring break flight to Italy, never mind that they now brought back infections to another mass cluster of people.  People are idiots, and many westerners especially only think of well, this is what I want to do today, so this is what I'm going to do whether it's good for anyone else since I'm not going to die, so anyone who has an ounce of common sense and the means will have to do their best to stay away from these (all) people.  Everyone out there is like these rules apply to everyone but me which is also why this thing is going to be worse and last longer in the US than anywhere we've seen yet.

This part has little to do with American politicians.  It's the American people (and Canadians and anyone else thinking the same way who refuse to wake up).

Yeah. I live amongst a bunch of trumpians who beLIEves everything he says. They think it’s a hoax or just the flu, or god will heal them. A neighbor told me two religious schools in the area went to Italy a few weeks ago against advice of nearly everyone. They went anyway. Just down the road.

All Americans aren’t stupid so, please don’t pack us all in the same carton. I am certainly not going anywhere anytime soon. I was able to stock up a bit to hunker down for awhile. I heard my mom & dad both talk about what their parents went through in 1918, during the Spanish flu. It’s nothing to take lightly. We never seem to learn from the past. Reminds me of Madonna’s song “Future”.

Good luck to you. Stay safe as best as you can. 🙏🏻

Cause the Wuhan quarantine which was implemented much earlier on a much more draconian scale lasted about 48 days.  If you think this is mass hysteria, what do you think would happen if people were told they would likely have to quarantine for 2 months+ to stop this?  There would be immediate violence and riots and more deaths on top.

Those posts at the beginning of this thread or even from Sun aren't going to age well, btw.  I don't know what you think this is if you think this isn't the plague.  The Spanish Flu of 2018 had a 2% mortality rate and the world had a lot less population and people didn't have immediate global travel.  This is literally the 1 in 100 years pandemic the movies have been telling you about.

I don’t disagree with you at all.

So, if I understand you correctly, they’re deliberately not telling people so as not to provoke a panic?

They’re saying up to 70% of the population will become infected. After all I’ve read, it’s all pretty scary no matter how you explain it.

Danish citizens are now advised against all non-essential journeys abroad, for the time being up to and including 12 April.

Danes currently travelling outside Denmark are urged to return home as soon as soon as possible, as they risk stranding abroad.

This is a good step. But still don’t understand these short timeframes. Like it’s going to go away all of a sudden in 4 weeks? I fear just the opposite happening in those countries who are on the cusp of all this. 🙏🏻
