I think it is a good idea for her to play songs she hasnt performed in a while!

I forgot to mention... My favorite cameo is katy perry's.. I really dig how she is dancing to the song, it is short but it s really cool... ( and usually i dont think of her as a good dancer)

It is strange; it is one of my least favorite songs of rebel heart but there is something addictive about the hook... Something that clings in your head and goes on repeat mode.... I can see how it will appeal to the general public more so than the usual fans...
As far as the video, like several people, it is the first time that i watch a madonna video more than once since hung up ( and i only watched hung up several times because the song is a killer although the video is banal)
Anyways, 7M+ views in a couple of days... I guess this song will be THE starter of the rebel heart for the general public!
Hopefully this will give madge the will to do more videos

The avicii tracks were part of the best travks on the album.
Kanye s work on the tracks is poor and give the tracks a sad, dull, dark note that i cannot stand... I never ever listen to the kanye s versions,
I love the initial versions of waom and rebel heart and borrowed time; although the production is a bit dated, they are way better than the final versions.
The folk version of dp is good but the final one is better

Say what you want to say but NONE of akerlund's videos is as iconic as ANY video by fincher or mondino or klein!
And ray of light won awards because of the music, it was simply madonna's year because the album was a smash!
In fact rol video is the first madonna video that i did not care for because it did not feel like a madonna video...
Dont tell me remains her best video of the post evita era, that s it.

I prefer the avicii production to the kanye production (by far!!!!!!!) so i only listen to avicii 's versions of wash all of over me, rebel heart... and borrowed time. I love
those songs
I also prefer the demo version of inside out to the final one by far
And i also listen to messiah and heartbreak city demos instead of the final versions... Oh and i forgot to mention that lvl house demo is much better than the edm final version
And i think two steps behind, never let you go are excellent and should have made the cut instead of holy water or best night. Although never let you go stands out too much ( its sound is more adapted to the rol/music era)

I never liked jonas as a director... His videos for madonna are all forgettable; the only one that was kind of ok was music... Nothing he s done with madonna is as classic as a fincher or mondino video ...
Her best directors remain fincher mondino and steven klein!!!!!

The quote was said by Margaret Thatcher. She posted the quote because she liked the quote and related to it on a personal level not because she agrees with Margaret Thatcher's political views. The problem with Madonna and instagram is that she overestimates the intelligence of people. The problem with social media is everyone is quick to jump down someone's throat without knowing the facts or even listening. You can like someone's quote without agreeing with them politically. I don't find that hard to understand at all.
I also think that is what happened here... And i also agree that madge should be careful because not everyone on the net is as smart as she thinks they are or should be...
And thatcher is right right right wing.... no way madge can agree with her politically she just liked the quote who could have been told by any other polarizing leader (left or right wing)

So we actually agree :-)I didn't miss your point, and I was not referring to you. If I had been, I would have replied to/quoted your post. It's just an observation I've made over the years that a certain segment of her fan base doesn't like when she just sings and prefers spectacle, controversy, dancing etc.
As for Swift, I personally found her presence unnecessary but harmless. I would have been far more annoyed had she chimed in on vocals.

It seems like you at least got my point! ;-)Agree M can do MUCH BETTER who she associates and collaborates with although I honestly love iheart. Felt that performance mostly just concentrated on M and Taylor was somehwhere in background.
I have nothing against iheart ; actually it might be better than billboard and american music award which i never watch...

The criticism is not about her singing it is about her association with taylor swift.... I would have rather she sang it alone! That s the point... Which you totally missedThe iheart performance was wonderful. Madonna is a fantastic singer. The bottom line is that some fans will simply never be happy when Madonna "just" sings a song. They need to have a spectacle, dancing, controversy, costumes etc. or they find it boring and pointless.
For those of us who enjoy when Madonna just comes out and sings a great song, this era has offered a host of treats.

Ps: the performance with taylor seift was unnecessary in my opinion; taylor swift is an artist that has nothing to do with the type of artist that madonna is.. Beside the fact that she seems popular in the usa, i can t even thing of more than 3 songs of hers...
Madonna should choose better who she associates herself with... I did not feel the performance at the iheart awards... I didnt think it did anything good for madonna except showing how hot she looked.... Hotter than that taylor swift by the way...

I dont know who rita ora is (and dont care) but this is the first public recognition of what madonna is trying to do... It s not about staying relevant, it s about staying political and fighting the next battle....
She fought several battles, ( sexual orientation bashing , racism, sexism) now she is fighting the next one: ageism... And all these new artists should be very thankful and grateful because she is fighting their battle!
If you think about aguilera and spears they barely are around anymore (and they are only in their 30s) et for madonna to be still around in her 50s with one of her best albums ever et promotibg it full force ... That s just paving the way!
