  1. Anybody here watched Hunger Games? I felt like I was watching the reaping ceremony while watching this Eurovision show. It's like, the presenters were well aware that they were BSing people, and that they were covering things up. Very strange feeling. Never got this vibe from any other music event.

  2. I liked the performance. But obviously she has alienated almost everybody.

One thing that is interesting to me, is that a lot of people can channel what the GP's thinking is gonna be, the moment they see it.

My mom was that way, and my sister is too. Whenever something went wrong and I couldn't tell, they'd tell me right away. And I don't think they've ever been wrong about such things. I find that quite interesting. It's a talent I don't have.

  3. Okay. Just saw it, and I think some people are overreacting.

The LAP arrengement was fine. But, I think the feedback wasn't working. She was drowning her voice, and that happens when singers can't hear themselves. This has happened before in other occasions. The Power of Goodbye at the 1998 EMA's. Hung Up at the 2005 EMA's.

Now, for the controversial bit. I think she just alienated everybody. This is proof that when Madonna wants to talk about something, she doesn't strategize or premeditate anything. She just takes the chance and goes with it. And I think she shouldn't do that at this stage of the game. This is my personal opinion. Sometimes she's controversial and it's very clever, sometimes it's just weird. I myself enjoyed the performance very much, but she needs to start thinking more carefully about the things she wants to do.

  4.

Very cool video, got me Borderline vibes. I dunno if it's gonna be popular. It's a little simplistic.

Medellin was better, and more ambitious. I think Medellin is gonna go down as the bigger hit of the era.

I feel like Medellin is like 4 Minutes, and Crave is prolly gonna be like Give It 2 Me, in terms of impact. Unless we change that somehow.

  5. Crave reminds of Sia a little. I don't know what's gonna take to make this a hit.

It's more commercial than Medellin for sure, but it's not carrying the hype of a first single.

The hit potential is there, but it's difficult. At least Medellin was popular in a lot of Latin countries. That will push the album in those places, and Madonna is gonna get the money for those sales. Which I guess is all that matters really. Still, I'd love a US hit. No sure why at this point, but I kinda do.

Trust me I've tried. It's just not for me. But excited about all the rest.  Cant wait for MX to drop

Don't worry. I assume you want a dance song from Madame X. I'm pretty sure we're gonna get it, since the songs we got are completely different. It's probably a diverse album.

Crave is the best one so far for me. I loved it the instant I heard it. I hope Madonna's team really give it a push. Maybe the money they're saving on the video, they could use to push this song. Payolla or whatever, I wouldn't mind to be honest.

  7. Just heard the whole song on YT.

It's excellent. Much stronger than Medellin. It's very current and commercial. This is Madonna's big chance at getting a new hit in the US market.

I think fans were expecting a dance-y disco song. And this isn't it. Doesn't mean it's not VERY strong. It's a VERY good single.

Mark my words. You'll all be digging it in no time, we're gonna get a video and we'll hear it a lot.

    People calling Crave generic? :rotfl:

I don't get anything generic from the song!

I haven't heard the whole song, but while I wouldn't say generic, it's definitely more commercial from what I can hear.

What's the problem with having a very commercially-sounded single? Totally natural. I'm sure there will be dance-y tracks on Madame X.

Madonna & Swae Lee Break Taboo With The Age-Defying "Crave"

They also post a 30 second snippet… that should give everyone a good taste of the song...

Madonna's unyielding presence is comparable to a desert rose.

Raise your hand if Madonna's mild interjection onQUAVO HUNCHO did away with your heart. The anti-ageist fancies herself the same person who once trolled David Letterman with yes/no answers to the point of ridicule. That's where Swae Lee comes into play, as the Tristan to her Isolde, the Billy Bob to Angelina's vial of blood. Between the two of them, there's no shortage of spunk to make the rounds.

It's easy to see why Madonna went with the much-younger Swae Lee as her fictional "better half." The twenty-something-year-old is essentially a water-downed version of the men she used to date (i.e. Dennis Rodman). So, before you go about doubting her personage, check the transcripts one last time before perusal.

While "Crave" is already available in select markets, the full-version only becomes available to North Americans at midnight. After seeing Madame X through to the finish line (tomorrow, May 10), the 60-year old singer will embark on a short concert run in three major US cities: Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles.

    Quotable Lyrics:

I'm tired of being far away from home
Far from walking home, far from where it's safe
    Hope it's not too late
Rush, rush, rush on you, love, love, love on you
Love you like a fool, put my trust in you.

    - Madonna

    Uhm.. interesting.

The snippet wasn't too bad. It's obviosuly a lot more commercial than Medellin was.

If the video is really great, this could finally be a hit for her. Maybe not top40but a Hot 100 entry is defnitely possible.

I kinda like what I heard. I think people were just hoping/expecting a dance track, and that's why they're expressing disappointment..

It is a stronger single IMO.

Ok, I hope so. This record has been cooking for so long, and talented people have been working on it. Idk why I can't expect something totally excellent. Medellin was a solid grower, but that's not always enough. Especially for lead singles.

    Good luck Madonna

    The macarena says hi! 😂

In the UK, Justin Bieber's version is what drove despacito to be a huge hit.

The main thing that's stopping Latin songs is the radio not playing them.

Language is not an issue. It doesn't matter if the song is half Spanish. Songs in freakin Korean have topped the charts in the US.

Repeat after me. The problem is AGE!! Age-ism. That's the problem.

I will agree that there are some songs that would've made for BETTER choices as singles but a lot of the singles she's released had hit potential and would've been at the very least minor hits in another time. A lot of the songs you list (most in fact) are FAR superior to the singles she released, IA is my favorite song on MDNA but I don't think it would've been a hit single. In fact, I think only TBGO, DWRY and maybe HT have hit potential out of those listed.....when I say "hit potential" that is ZERO reflection on the quality of the song itself btw. I just can't buy that between GI2M, MA, Celebration, Revolver, GGW, TUTR, LFL, Ghosttown, BIM and Medellin that there's not at LEAST one top 40 song there, I don't care how bad one feels those songs are.....they're still head and shoulders above most of the shit that placed on radio so even if someone finds them all to be shit, shouldn't they still garner SOME play then? There's something more to it. I will always say (as Diplo did) that if Ghosttown had been done by a younger artist, it would've been huge. At the very least a top ten hit.

there's a problem, and one problem only. H.

Taylor Swift is the epitome of vanilla! Zero risks, zero authenticity, zero anything!

Oh and this "Poppy" that was on the red carpet just now with that helium voice and ... "I'm from the internet" answer... seriously?! WTF is up with pop artists these days...

Poppy is a character. She and Titanic Sinclair(her producer) like to pretend that she is an AI. A Robot.

They're trying to ride a wave that is coming during the next decade. AI is gonna be everywhere in a few years.

No offence to TS, but she is comparable to the most boring, vanilla sex you can have. For Christ sake get a belt around your neck and hang from the back of a door whilst flicking your bean - anything to raise an eyebrow! I'd rather shit in my hands and clap than listen to one of her songs for 30 seconds.

She seems like a nice person though.

She's a good girl, and she's been very kind to Madonna. I wish nothing but the best things for her.

But she is not good when it comes to music. Her songwriting is basic, VERY basic. And most of her videos are cringe worthy. Her latest video takes the cake. I wish Madonna could be getting the views and attention TS gets. Because, to me, Madonna deserves it more. Taylor Swift's music feels like cheese with mayo. I don't mean to be disrespectful but it's just my honest opinion..
