  1. I would like to go: "Oh my god, i didn't see that coming...how unexpected" but everybody with a brain saw that coming from miles away.

At this point there isn't much left to cross out on the "What will Trump as president do" list.

Most of it is done already, screwing with veterans, hurting kids, help discriminating against the lgbt community, raising the deficit, going golfing for most of his presidency and so on.

Trying to start a war is one of the few things left on the list.

It was always the option, i mean most expected it to happen once his approval numbers are way down...very few expected it to happen while impeachment is going on...but most people knew it would happen either way.

  2. I get people are angry, but I've realised that recently, the age of social media has flayed our minds. Now, you're either 100% with someone or something, or you're 100% the enemy. There is no in-between anymore.

Many fully expected Corbyn to stroll into Number 10 and were suddenly shocked to discover that actually, the country at large is a very different place to the woke echo chamber portrayed on Twitter.

  3. Let me just point out that this holier than thou BS exists on all sides. The day before the 2016 election the republicans were talking about impeaching Hillary Clinton on equally nebulous grounds.

Unless we can all agree that asking a foreign power to dig up dirt on a political opponent is fine. If so, then I suggest Biden, Bernie, and Warren all start asking China, North Korea, Russia, and everyone else Trump has ties to to get dirt on him. It’s only fair we all play by his crooked businessman rules.

  4. Boris sounds like a parrot with the 'get brexit done' shite. Of course there are obvious parallels with the annoying orange american with 'make america great again'.

Neither of them seemed to achieve their goals despite having plenty of opportunities and time to do so.

Both of them just appeared to divide each of the respective nations. It's hysterical.

  5. This day 38 years ago - 22 October 1981 - the European Court of Human Rights decided that Northern Ireland's laws criminalising homosexuality violated Article 8 of the Convention, leading to decriminalisation a year later.

38 years later, we can finally have same sex marriages. Only 6 years behind the rest of the UK but better late than never I suppose.

Its happened. We are now all real people. Our bodies are ours. Our love is legal. Our lives are better. Still a lot to do.But this should be be a bit of hope in a hopeless time. And a reminder that taking to the streets, challenging power, and talking to our families makes CHANGE, finally, the laws fall in line with a people that are progressive + passionate about a future for everyone. I'm proud to have spent 3 years fighting for this

  6. This is all conveniently timed, since the impeachment furor, if carried through, should hit its peak around next summer when it will do the most damage to Trump's re-election efforts.

Maybe the democrats will produce the pee-sex tape too if it even exsists, at an opportune moment...

I don't see the republicans throwing trump under the bus in the Senate, for the simple reason that there is no one else on their side to compete, and Trump HAS been doing some of what they want (corporate tax cuts, for example).

  7. Brexit has been a shit show since it was first announced and comes back to the arrogance of those who ran the Remain campaign that it was a done deal. Why plan for something that would never ever come to pass? Only it did. Oops! Hence why Cameron bailed. Because if he stayed on, he knew he would be exposed as having no plan. It wasn't just because he would have been doing something he claims to have not believed in (despite his pre-vote insistences that he would trigger Article 50 'the next day' after the vote if Leave won).

It's something that has plagued this Government since. Theresa May's insistence that 'No Deal is better than a bad deal' yet providing minimal to no planning for it believing she could strong-arm her own vision through. And flipping that round, it seems Boris has been planning for No Deal but not for a deal, all the while thinking he can strong-arm his vision through.

A responsible government should plan for every scenario. And not one of them has been responsible, so no proper planning.

  8. Nothing was ever said about a deal during the referendum. In fact, nothing was ever said about the manner in which we would leave by the people who would - or rather, were supposed to - steer the ship. It was literally: stay or go. That's the entirety of it.

I firmly believe people were voting based entirely on their own idea of what leaving meant. The trouble is that 'remain' only meant one thing: nothing changes, no need for legislature, no need for any further action. It wasn't explained precisely what manner we were supposed to leave in.

The trouble here is this: we all thought they at least had an inkling of a plan. We weren't counting on our political elite being so arrogant that they assumed it was a 'done deal' therefore, why bother planning for the other outcome? That's why David Cameron resigned the day after, despite his "I'll trigger Article 50 the very next day" talk: he knew that he had been exposed.

One idea I heard was 'leaving would hand the Tories more power' and I'm sorry: I laugh every time I hear that, because they have more power in than out. Why do you think so many of them campaigned to stay in? If they truly had less power the inverse would surely have been true. I'm also pretty sure that had David Cameron decided to campaign Leave, Boris would have campaigned Remain.

As for Corbyn, he's a leaver, no matter what shirt he decides to wear each day. He knows his socialist programme can never exist while we're in the EU, so those hoping he would actually stick to his word and facilitate a remain campaign are lying to themselves. He also knows he'll never get power without at least superficially appearing to be pro-remain. The irony of this all is that it's him who has less power if we stay.

If you truly believe in Remain, vote for someone who actually campaigned for it all along.

  9. Tulsi would actually be a good candidate for the Dems, but unfortunately I don't see her really going to make it. She's honest, not crazy, not a lair (that I see), and not tainted with empty promises and partisan politics. She's smart, on top of topics and the best part is that she want's America to get out of running a globalized military with a focus on endless wars.

Biden doesn’t have a shot at all. He’s Hillary 2.0. The only way he could do it is if he does all the things Hillary did but better. Like actually visit battleground states. Otherwise it will be another election like 2016. The vast majority of Americans stayed home.

  10. It now appears that this dossier is the most up to date one.

I'm fed up with being told lies, blatent lies, and spin by so called government.

MPs are supposed to be our servants, not the other way around. This government is treating their electorate with distain, in a manner approaching the Soviet norm. They need to be reminded of this time and time again!

Boris Johnson has accused former chancellor Philip Hammond of undermining the government’s strategy with a “terrible collaboration” with the EU to thwart the UK’s departure from the bloc.

During the first “People’s PMQs” — a Facebook Q&A where the prime minister answers questions from members of the public — the prime minister delivered a coded critique of MPs opposed to a no-deal Brexit, such as Mr Hammond, who have taken a public stand against his strategy.

“There’s a terrible collaboration, as it were, going on between people who think they can block Brexit in parliament and our European friends,” Mr Johnson said.

What an outrageous statement to make, and with the intent of demonising and pilloring those who wish to remain.

If he's going to allege collaboration then he better produce the evidence.

It's yet another example of Johnson's tongue getting out of control.

  12. A US-UK trade deal will not get through Congress if Brexit undermines the Good Friday Agreement, the Speaker of the US House of Representatives has said.

Democrat Nancy Pelosi, whose party controls the House, said the UK's exit from the EU could not be allowed to endanger the Northern Irish peace deal.

Her comments came after the US national security adviser said the UK would be "first in line" for a trade deal.
