  1. Portugal only have Spain as neighbor and yet ESC's highest-scoring winner (758 points) is Portuguese. So the Balkans (and other buddy buddy regions) can have that policy of giving their points to each other, but when a song from a far-away country is good, ain't no geopolitical force that will stop it from winning.
  2. The woman sung Frozen on the National Lottery, between big money numbers for crying out loud. From there, the only way is up.

  4. Based on the Sanremo Music Festival held in Italy since 1951, Eurovision has been broadcast every year since its inauguration in 1956, making it the longest-running annual international television contest and one of the world's longest-running television programmes. It is also one of the most watched non-sporting events,[8] with audience figures of between 100 million and 600 million internationally.[9][10] It has been broadcast in several countries that do not compete, such as the United States, Canada, New Zealand, and China. Since 2000, it has been broadcast online via the Eurovision website https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurovision_Song_Contest
  5. https://www.otvfoco.com.br/anitta-passa-mal-em-estudio-antes-de-encontrar-madonna-e-se-desespera/ Anitta felt sick in studio before meeting Madonna and despaired The singer Anitta felt sick in the studio before meeting the Queen of Pop Madonna. The Brazilian met the blonde in December to record a song, which has not yet been released. In an interview for Radio Mix, she revealed the details of this meeting that marked her career. "I had already bored her by message. I was scared, I was all nervous. I went to the bathroom, shitted like hell because I was very nervous the moment I arrived in the studio. My stomach was a mess. That had never happened, to go to the bathroom nervously" she said. "Getting a call from Madonna was really a very shocking thing in my year. To me, she's a living legend. Everything she did for women in music... If women today have freedom to do so much, it is because she was strong and endured too much. It is very easy to think that the nowadays world was always like this, but it is difficult for people to remember that Madonna went through a lot to ensure that today we have this freedom of expression. I had the honor of told her that personally" she explained. Anitta, however, said she had to perform exceptionally well or that the nervousness could hurt her. The song, with speculations that it is a funk called Faz Gostoso, must shock the public and will have Madonna singing in Portuguese. "As time passed by I got better. Even because for what I had to do with her I could not be nervous (...) But then I said that she had already changed my life just by having spent those hours there with her ... I taught her a few words like 'babado' (that she had also taught Camila Cabello) and 'não', "added the brunette.
  6. A little off-topic (just as 90% of this thread lol), but the songs competing to represent Portugal at Eurovision 2019 were released a few days ago and so far the favorite (most comments, most views, most liked) is the one that mixes Fado, Afro and Electronica, just as Madonna's album will. So if you wonder how such mash-up may/will sound, here it is: From Billboard: https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/latin/8494610/portugal-2019-eurovision-songs The songs were culled from about 200 submissions in a contest that was open to the Portuguese public. Judging by YouTube plays, Portugal’s front runner so far is Conan Osiris, whose song “Telemóveis,” which he composed and produced on his computer, and has been played 193,000 times so far. The music of Osiris -- the alter-ego of Lisbon native Tiago Miranda -- embodies diversity with a mix of styles and sounds including fado, hip hop, techno, rock, kuduro and Bollywood and Arabic musical influences. Osiris has quickly become a sensation in Portugal since the release of his 2017 self-produced album Adoro Bolos. While his song could stand out as a progressive contrast to the usual Eurovision fare, Osiris’ music has been hailed as a calling card for Portugal’s cultural mix, and been described as the sound of freedom.
  7. https://www.ibahia.com/entretenimento/detalhe/noticia/anitta-e-caetano-veloso-gravam-musica-juntos-para-novo-album-da-cantora/ Anitta and Caetano Veloso record music together for Anitta's new album Get ready because there comes a powerful duet out there. Anitta and Caetano Veloso recorded together the song "Você mentiu", by her. The track is part of the upcoming album of Anitta, which will be released in the first half of this year, with the provisional name of "Game Over". After partnering with Madonna (still surrounded by mysteries), the duet with Caetano, one of the most revered and respected artists in the country, gives even more power to Anitta's career. The two have already split the stage at the opening of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Maybe the duet with Madonna will just be part of Anitta's new album and so the song will have nothing to do with Magic's sounds/lyrics/tracklist? Anitta getting all these big names must mean it.
  8. The two female voices in the beginning? Yes, it is Portuguese; they say: - Is there image down there/below? - No.
  9. https://lifestyle.sapo.pt/fama/noticias-fama/artigos/madonna-deixa-palacio-ramalhete-no-inicio-de-abril-sites-internacionais-ja-aceitam-reservas Madonna leaves Ramalhete Palace in early April. International Sites already accepting reservations Preparing to launch a new album in the summer and kicking off a new tour at the end of the year, the American singer leaves the local establishment where she moved in early 2018. The new single is due in May, but when it's released, Madonna will no longer reside at Ramalhete Palace. Starting in April, the local lodging facility at Rua das Janelas Verdes, a hotel unit of Atmosphere Hospitality Group, leased entirely by the singer in late 2017, is available to welcome new guests. In recent days, the property has reappeared on sites such as Booking.com. According to this booking site, April 11, Thursday, is the first date available.
  10. Lisbon is under some riots since yesterday (burning cars, fights, etc). I hope that M and her team stay safe.
  11. It sounds fishy to me. Why no Portuguese media is reporting this? There's zero news. Why would the people who kicked the reader out tell him which artist was there and doing what? Why would a reader first inform DrownedMadonna instead of going to social media and tell friends and so that Madonna is shooting a video there and generate a buzz? Did Diogo at least heard the song? And if so, did it made him dance in a different way? | ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄| | FAKE | |___________| \ (•◡•) / \ / --- | |
  12. What if this new look was just a disguise that she used to see the super moon in public?
  13. Recently, Nego do Borel singer got involved in a major controversy after having a comment from him exposed in the media. It all started with a malicious review by the artist, in relation to Luisa Marilac. At the time, Nego claimed to have found her "a very handsome man", when in fact she is trans woman. The attitude of the singer ended up having a bad repercussion, and many detonated by the comment, that was considered transphobic. The case has generated so much negative repercussion, that now the artist has suffered the consequences. This Sunday (20) Nego was invited to take part in the concert of singer Anitta, who is one of his best friends. The problem was when it was time to go on stage. The public did not like to see him and received him with boos at the performance. Even in the face of the negativity, the funkeiro performed for three minutes, during all the time he sang, several screams were shout at him, asking him to leave the scene. Anitta, as always defending her friends, did not like the attitude and had the show stopped to vent on what was happening. "I will never turn my back on a friend of mine. What I can do as a friend is to instruct people about things they do not know. We live in a country where people know very little about many things. They learn from mistakes, they learn from them. " Even with the speech in favor of the singer, the public did not forgive and continued booing his presentation. The singer again appealed to everyone to be calm, because he would learn from the error. Then, the manifestation (where people screamed the anti-Bolsonaro slogan #EleNão) went to Madonna's Instagram account. https://www.1news.com.br/noticia/533740/tv-e-famosos/anitta-tenta-defender-nego-do-borel-em-show-e-reacao-do-publico-choca-21012019
  14. Why not collaborate with, you know, actual acclaimed good Brazilian musicians like Chico Buarque, Caetano Veloso ou Marisa Monte? Even Rita Lee would be welcome. In my opinion, to work with Anitta/Iza brings little to nothing to the table artistically wise; I hear their songs and see their music videos and I don't feel art at all, just singers with an attitude.
  15. I doubt it. Aldina de Sousa name does not ring a bell with 99% of the Portuguese people, so I can't see how Madonna, a foreigner in this land, could even stumble across her as a potential inspiration (Madonna must have seen the photo in this forum as some are pointing out, it's the only explanation). I never heard of her, but from what I read online Aldina de Sousa was an actress, recorded some songs (every actor/actress did it back in the day) and was the first wife of Vasco Santana (iconic Portuguese actor from the 40s b&w comedy movies who, let's say, could appear in a Portuguese version of Vogue's rap; that's how big he was), but her name and work are unknown in the grand scheme of Portuguese culture (maybe she was popular back then, idk). Madonna probably just liked Aldina's attitude in the photo: strong, smoking and playing a musical male instrument (for that time). I can't see Aldina de Sousa being the follow-up of Dita Parlo at all; but, never say never.
  16. What happened to the Monte Carlo winning bids? Will these experiences be part of the #SoonDeluxeEdition?
