This is fantastic. What I wouldn’t give to be there in on the 50th anniversary of pride in NYC and be in front of Madonna.

A true ‘reinvention’ from her would be to just let her fucking hair down and camp this performance up as much as she can. I’d love to see carefree, fun, energetic setlist that captures the essence of what Madonna is to dance music.

    1. Everybody
    2. Into The Groove
    3. Hung Up
    4. Deeper and Deeper
    5. Vogue

This is what I'm hoping for! All her gay anthems.

    From PJ:

This is what that sad sac wrote in his review of the Ray of Light album,

“In just the first song, “Drowned World/Substitute for Love,” Madonna throws in trip-hop drum loops, jungle snares, string samples and pointless computer bleeps (lots of those). She shows off all these trinkets from her expensive collection of electronica gimmicks as if she’s unpacking her shopping bags after a day at the outlet malls and she doesn’t even care if they clash. “Drowned World” comes on loud, tacky and ridiculous, but it lets Madonna do what she does best: show off.”

I'm sure he changed his tune when ROL became an acclaimed masterpiece. :chuckle:

Btw is anyone else slightly annoyed by the rather loud "click" noise that's audible around the 00:39 mark and a few more times throughout the song? It's right before she sings "my cravings get dangerous" and seems to be an editing error on the vocal track, right?

    I noticed that too.

She slams her glass down on the table and yells “Aqua por favor!” Everyone leaps to action. Then she points out a photographer and yells “Who let the paparazzi in? Who are you? Do I know you?!”

The photographer stops, terrorized. “It’s Ricardo, the official photographer of Madonna”, her publicist clarifies. Everyone laughs!

Because the fact of the matter was that Madonna – backed by a competent but rather ordinary touring band – simply didn’t sing very well. Her intonation was atrocious; she sang sharp and she sang flat, and the combination of her unsure pitch and thin, quavery vocal timbre made the held notes at the end of her phrases sound like they were crawling off somewhere to die.
