  1. I loved MDNA.

Idk I saw you in another thread saying Confessions was her pandering album. Now MDNA is a hot mess, now this is too tame... I think you're never gonna be satisfied

I never said confessions was her pandering album.....well not in a bad way....It was genius! Loved it and it was very smart of her.

Just havent been a fan of her tour song choices in years. Maybe Im never gonna be satisfied....but is it too much to ask her to have done "Get Together"....just one goddamn Confessions song?!? If she had thrown just that one track in, as a dance track (not some acoustic version) it would have totally helped change the pace of this show. Is that too much to ask for?

Instead we get not one, not two, not three, not four but almost 5 songs (if you count the medley tracks) just from the like a virgin album.

  2. Shrug. Would you have rather her do the MDNA formula again tho? And then you might bitch at her for doing that if she did. I mean she has to change it up a bit. And yeah, maybe a bit of damage control is happening. She also started at 9:29 tonight. Remember 2012?

We're in her Sticky & Sweet phase; aka the phase where she wants to cut loose and just put on a straight forward pop show instead of practically a live action movie night after night.

This is her pattern, starting with Who's That Girl. Followed by the very complex BAT, followed by the very playful GS, followed by the intense DWT, followed by the appeasing RIT, followed by the stark CT, followed by the sugary S&S, followed by the scandalous MDNA, and now we are here with RHT :)

    She's stayed true to it.

OH god no, I hated that MDNA mess.....was the first M show I didn't bother to get floor seats for and left before it ended....it drained me.

There just arent any strong performances at all here for me (granted, ive only watched fan clips) and maybe thats what she's doing intentionally. the rolling stones, Cher, and u2, who charge similar prices to M, dont have choreographed numbers or as much complexity as Madonna shows....maybe she's scaling back and revising her stage formula.

  3. Don't be ridiculous, just go. It's Madonna and it's not like she's sitting there singing deep cuts from the American Life album. She's singing her most legendary songs in epic fashion and it's done with far more style and sophistication than the feeble attempt she had in 04 with Reinvention.

This might be one of the last times you'll be able to see her so just go.

Ai - thats how the other part of me feels. One of the last times I will get to see her....even though Im not in love with the pace at all.....song selection is strange....I mean is this the rebel heart tour..or the virgin tour?!? (Why are there so many virgin album tracks?!)

  4. I don't think the Hard Candy era was a letdown at all.The album is great and wasn't the tour (S&S) her most successful tour ever?

after the Confessions album it was pretty disappointing for me. Its very easy to call a tour successful from a revenue stand-point when it is one of the most expensive tickets and ran for 2 yrs rather than her standard run of a tour. So yes, monetarily, its her most successful.

    Creatively a letdown though.

As for the album - Atleast half the album is excellent - Why was Ring My bell only a b-side?? It shouldve been a single.

  5. nah - her "gayest" period started right at the 1989 MTV VMA's and closed with the 1995 Bedtime Story Pajama Party.

Confessions to me was her answer to all the critics saying, Madonna left the gays, shes married, kabbalahed out, putting out folk records, not talking with her gay brother, etc.....and she said, no, no, gays, im still here....I have forgotten about you somewhat because I am a mother and wife to a homophobe (says her brother), but Im still here and I need a hit record and I know you queens love your dance music so here goes nothing......and it worked!

Hung Up is probably her last major worldwide global hit - I cant imagine 4 minutes surpassed it....but well stranger things have happened.

  6. Im convinced it would have been a hit if she had put out simultaneous releases.

something along the lines of putting hung up out as the main single and immediately pushing another track to the clubs - whether it was sorry or get together or whatever. I think this dual approach wouldve worked perfectly with her promo schedule which was basically one quick shot for the Hung Up single around the world and then boom she went on tour.

I think that was the big problem. she was pretty much gearing up for her tour and there was no promotion at all for get together and for jump, BOTH of which should have been massive hits.

As far as im concerned Get Together is one of her modern day classics. One of her all time best and would like to see it re-released one day.

  7. I don't have Apple Music, but I would say it is just your impression. I mean, did you listen to only Holy Water or RH completely? Cause it seems a like strange the fact that they fixed only one song from an entire album.

HaveASit - I can see this happening because its happened before.

Do you guys remember the serious technical mishap during Erotica on the Celebration album?! Its not like that on the mp3 versions that are available to buy now. Its been quietly corrected.....unless it wasnt quiet and I just didnt get the memo.

Gonna listen to this Holy Water now.

  8. I dont really find the entire set of clips super diva or bitchy. Just matter of fact, straight forward and honest.

The only time I really got bitch vibe from her what when she just seemed super annoyed with the blond non english journalist and her questions and the one about answering dumb questions..eek.

  9. I still think Nikki felt "let down" by not having been picked for RIT and it really did come off through that 2004 interview. She never went on a TV show before to talk about how much "Madonna loved Dennis Rodman big........ feet" while giggling and obviously meaning how much she loved his big cock and all the rest she said in that clip. Coincidentally the day after RIT opened in the UK that clip got broadcast on Channel 4 at midnight within the context of a tabloid style programme.

There are worse cases of rich people exploiting tax loopholes, on a much bigger scale and nobody is reporting about them. Madonna has bought the extra land and she's getting to save because she's planting some trees

It's not like she's murdering anyone or evading hundres of millions in taxes like Google and similar entities do on a regular basis all over the world. I say Google but I could say any random hedge fund manager who has a house in that area like other posters have mentioned

We all know if it wasn't Madonna this wouldn't even be in the news. But, like yo said, we have different perceptions perhaps, and we are both making assumptions, so let's agree to disagree. Ain't No Big Deal

Im not part of Nikki or Madonna's camp and neither are you so really hard to speculate if Nikki was let down or if she wasnt picked or even tried out or what. Maybe Nikki didnt want to work with M because of the way M and Guy were treating Chris and Nikkie is good friends with Chris. See....What Im pointing out here is we just dont know what happened. I just watched that interview for what is was and nothing more. Nikki is a sassy gal and there wasnt anything said on that interview that was mean or harsh, just sounded fun.

The other issue, the land issue, isnt really a Madonna issue for me. Its bigger and Madonna's taking advantage of a loophole that she has every right to just reminds me about how effed up our laws are and how they benefit certain groups on the backs of others. I could care less if it was madonna, mariah, obama, whoever. Im sure they all do it.....and well good for them...doesnt mean I have to respect it or support it. Nonetheless thats her private business and not the person I respect. Im just expressing my opinion on a story about the private madonna that has made it into the public. Ultimately, the madonna I respect and admire, is the artist.

  10. These are all assumptions. We can argue back and forth but the way one person perceives something may not be the way another person does.

I'm saying you're assuming Madonna is a hypocrite because she's taking advantage of something perfectly legal to save some cash and get herself and her children shielded from the prying eyes of anyone who lives or comes near her Hamptons property while at the same time you're much more inclined

I dont think you are understanding me. She should do whatever she needs to, to protect her children. Whether she uses loopholes (like so many others) or chooses another route is completely up to her. I just dont feel like its in line with the spiritual higher than thou let me teach you something person she portrays sometimes.

and ready to make excuses for someone who came off as resentful towards her at not getting what she thought was automatically owed to her and therefore did what she knows Madonna hates the most: people she trusts blabbing to the press about her private life, and the C-list press of them all.

I dont think you are understanding me again. This goes back to perspective. I thought her interview was funny and didnt pick up the resentment you did. She gave her own personal perspective on a woman she knows alot more than you or I. There's nothing blabby about that. What if someone asked you, your opinion on your old boss, or friend or whatever. Are you not allowed to share your personal opinion? Im not sure what else to say other than we dont have similar perspectives in this case.

Madonna is absolutely generous in areas she wants to be generous and for her own personal reasons (whether its to push a cause, to claim tax benefits or whatever other reasons rich people start charities). Im not taking that away from her.

I'm saying you're assuming Madonna is a hypocrite because she's taking advantage of something perfectly legal to save some cash and get herself and her children shielded from the prying eyes of anyone who lives or comes near her Hamptons property while at the same time you're much more inclined and ready to make excuses for someone who came off as resentful towards her at not getting what she thought was automatically owed to her and therefore did what she knows Madonna hates the most: people she trusts blabbing to the press about her private life, and the C-list press of them all.

Of course I know Niki has been a huge part of her professional history together with Donna and they were also friends, which is something I've always appreciated, all the more reasons not to behave the way she did on some D-list TV show airing at midnight in August simply for not having been selected for a Madonna tour for the first time in 17 years time

Madonna has generously donated to AIDS and Cancer research for decades now and literally poured millions into Pakistan, Malawi and other difficult poverty-stricken countries, but if what's she's doing with her country house seems so hypocritical to you I'm fine with it
