  1. I love MX.  To me, it is all that MDNA could have been if Madonna would have not been selling all of her non-music wares and what Rebel Heart would have been without the insane leaks and the rushed efforts to fix the problem.  I still enjoy MDNA and Rebel Heart but MX.... damn... what a fantastic piece of work, start to finish.  Platinum gold.

  2. Funana is one of my favorite MX songs.  For me, it is a song about being overwhelmed by abandonment.  Madonna is a legend and she belongs to a fraternity.  These people were her mentors, her peers, her friends and in many ways her family. They started something, alongside her in many cases, and are now gone.  Funana is about carrying a broken heart but refusing to surrender.  In Funana, Madonna seems to remorsefully accept the passing of the freedom fighting torch as she comes to terms that she is surrounded by loneliness and isolation.  She is examining the social-political battleground and realizes that her comrades no longer have her back and they have fallen all around her. I imagine that life as a celebrity is very isolating, especially when the only people that treat you as a regular human being start disappearing.  The song is beautiful on so many levels.

She took risks, it wasn't a safe bet and whether you love the album or hate it - she stayed true to her vision and gave us one of the most interesting pieces of her career.

Its my #4 Madonna album, and rightly so. As a whole, it's a stunning piece of art.

    I agree 100%.

Let me first start off by saying that I love Madame X as is, and as much as I am thankful for volume of quality songs, I enjoy making my own edits of her recent albums to re-examine their focus. Sometimes I remove songs, sometimes I add bonus tracks into the proper sequence, etc., and with Madame X, I messed around with the sequence a little and I was surprised how much I prefer it to the original....

I did omit some biggies tho, so don't shoot me, but i think it's tighter and packs more of a punch....

    1. Come Alive (would've loved a slightly extended intro for the first song, but this is still great as is)
    2. Crave
    3. Future
    4. Batuka
    5. Killers Who Are Partying
    6. Crazy
    7. Medellín
    8. Extreme Occident
    9. Faz Gostoso
    10. Bitch, I'm Loca
    11. I Don't Search I Find
    12. God Control

    Bonus Track:
    13. Ciao Bella

You should check it out... i think it's pretty dope.

In this alternate reality, I think I Rise could've been a Pride50 exclusive digital/vinyl release, and Dark Ballet a post-album/tour single and video. Looking for Mercy is filler imo, so that can just be gone.

Looking for Mercy is not filler but the best song on the album.  Faz Gostoso and Bitch I'm Loca are fillers.  And Madame X without Dark Ballet is an apostate.
