I love Howard, and he does seem to have respect for Madonna. I hope that she is at ease and not all defensive.

Patrick Leonard, Stephen Bray, Shep Pettibone and I love her collaboration with Babyface.

It's never been for me, there are songs of hers that I love that haven't been chart toppers. One of my favourite albums of hers is Bedtime Stories, moreso than the critically acclaimed Ray of Light. I like what I like and I never let others dictate my opinions, that goes for Madonna and other artists as well. For instance, I never liked Mariah and I actually enjoyed some of the songs on her latest album, and it certainly didn't do well.

This video sums really up the Madonna in 1985.

Love your mixes, keep em coming and I love jamming to your mixes in my car.

I remember when I saw her perform Bedtime Story in 1995, I hope she has another iconic performance twenty years later!
-
I never understood why it wasn't released as a single just like Beautiful Stranger, those songs could have done very well.
-
I always thought that this song would have been a hit for Madonna.

I remember watching this on MTV, I can't believe it was 20 years ago.

When RS Actually meant something. I have this mag in my house, 2 years before I was born
Love that cover, it was her first reinvention. Here's the MTV video about her year in 1986.

I think there are a lot of her old school fans, myself included that hope she does the classics. I've been listening to her muscic since the beginning and I love the 80s and early 90s hits, and would like to a lot of them included.

It definitely has that Stephen Bray sound to it.

Made me mention it all the more, I remember haha
Girl, me too! I was loving that just to be a fan of hers was an act of rebellion unto itself.

I would say that until the Like a Prayer video came out, Madonna's "scandals" had been pretty tame. She was big with teen girls with her first three albums. The controversy from the Like a Prayer video was bad, but by that time she was more popular with the young adult crowd and the gays. I'd say as the teens moved onto Debbie Gibson, Tiffany and the New Kids on the Block and later Paula Abdul, Wilson Philips and even Mariah as they were all "safer". After Like a Prayer the scandals just got more and more crazy until they reached their apex with the "Sex" book and "Body of Evidence". I remember in 1992-1993 to like Madonna was a bit scandalous, and then she appeared on Letterman and that was sort of the turning point. By late 1994 everything started to get tamer, but I'd say some damage was done to her career.

Girl Gone Wild is so catchy and the video is amazing, it's the only song from MDNA that I really like listening too over and over again.

I'll Remember is such a beautiful song and she's never performed it. It was a pretty big hit, reaching #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and I remember it being played heavily on the radio stations back in 94.

I remember listening to the Like A Virgin album on vinyl and playing Material Girl on repeat, because I loved the video and the song (I was young). I also remember in my teens MTV and VH1 dedicating weekends whenever a new album was released. A new album was always an event!

This was by far my favourite video of hers, it's like a movie and everything about it was perfect. I remember when I first saw it, not only did I love the song, but the video made it so much better. It was a disappointment that it didn't chart higher, but at the time she was really facing a backlash, I remember a lot of people were really put off by the Sex book (not me though).

Sadly, it feels like those days are gone. I think if she were going with a specific look, we'd see it on the album cover, no? The cover and promotional photograph just look like a rehashed version of the early 90s Monroe-style image.
Although, I must say I prefer her with short hair this time around. It's been a while since we've seen her hair short. I think she should keep it that way during this era.
My favourite look of hers is that early 90s Marilyn Monroesque look, so I hope she keeps it. She just needs the darker eyebrows and she'll look amazing in any b&w video or photoshoot.

All she has left is to do a rock album that she never got to record when she was starting out. Plus, she is in the R and R hall of fame, she has to now
I always wondered what a Madonna rock album would sound like, Cher kind of did that rock thing in the 80s, but for some reason I can't imagine Madonna doing rock or heavy metal. However, she has always been one to surprise us.
-
I think 5 or 6 new songs should suffice, I prefer the classic hits from the 80s myself.
-
I remember when this video premiered on MTV and VH1 it was played quite a bit by both (just as Take a Bow had been).
-
Beyoncé has lots of style but little substance, whereas Madonna has both.
Madonna on Howard Stern this Wednesday!
