  1. Such a leader :inlove: So honest. So brave.

Hillary never saw a classified email in four years either despite communicating with the White House, the Pentagon, the CIA, NSA, foreign governments, and our embassies around the world on a daily basis. Bill Clinton may be an authentic phony but his wife is just a phony phony. The sooner Democrats wake up to that the better for them.

  2. Chris Matthews: Who'll Watch 'The Two Cuban Guys' If Trump Doesn't Debate?

Cher must not be as sick and tired of being lied to and manipulated by the Fox News channels of the world as the rest of us. And that is with a complete lack of hypocrisy, if the US were feeding the hand that bites it by giving millions in advertising and viewership to ISIS I would feel exactly the same. The Saudi money at Fox has found its influence. :newspaper:

  3. I don't get this. Why wouldn't Mexico just say FUCK YOU and leave it at that?

He will bludgeon them into handing over the cash.

Mexico must pay for the wall and, until they do, the United States will, among other things: impound all remittance payments derived from illegal wages; increase fees on all temporary visas issued to Mexican CEOs and diplomats (and if necessary cancel them); increase fees on all border crossing cards of which we issue about 1 million to Mexican nationals each year (a major source of visa overstays); increase fees on all NAFTA worker visas from Mexico (another major source of overstays); and increase fees at ports of entry to the United States from Mexico [Tariffs and foreign aid cuts are also options]. We will not be taken advantage of anymore.

I don't really buy the dodgy parts, though. After watching old videos of Trump testifying before Congress on taxes and the economy....behind the carnival barker demeanor is an extremely serious, crafty and intelligent guy.

  4. I saw this picture. The only thing I could think of was self entitled fart house bigoted punks that think supporting a man like Trump makes them look tough.

Which is another thing. Trump has one of the thinnest skins of anyone in recent political memory. He cant take any heat without throwing tantrums and insults like an adult baby. And the FUCKIG comb over!!!!! NOTHING says INERCURE as hell more then a man who is so fearful of being bald that he has to resort to a comb over that looks like a dead animal is on his head.

On the other hand, Trump does seem conceited and arrogant enough to avoid failing in front of the world at all cost. :) He has also promised that as president, he would not talk as much, be less combative and have a much different tone than as candidate. But how do you go from "loud mouth arrogant bully" to reserved and not totally mess with your supporters' minds ?

More seriously, I do think you need to read the "Art of the Deal" to truly understand the underlying artistry of the campaign - that to some extent this is a deliberate strategy by Trump to get free coverage. And it works. The bravado and insolence are all part of the broader plan. His brash public persona is a calculated one, and almost an exaggerated self-caricature.

Here is a PowerPoint-type presentation that summarizes the book:

  5. Uhm, this is not exactly a reputable news source to be citing. "Friends" of Mr. Delay at the FBI? This guy was indicted for criminal campaign contributions in 2002. Also, this news show he is appearing on is hosted by a conservative friend of his. This is not NY Times quality journalism. I will fear for the indictment of Hillary when it actually happens.

I'm not holding my breath either. It is irrelevant to me whether she is prosecuted as long as Democratic primary goers are aware they in choosing her they are indeed voting for a criminal who decided when she took the job as Secretary of State that she was above the law. But the FBI has also been leaking like a sieve lately and some of that could be an attempt to apply pressure on the agency. Hillary and friends have been doing damage control as a counter. I have no doubt the details of the Clinton's criminal acts will be made public if Lynch stonewalls. Comey will see to it. Look for someone to write an expose if it hasn't already been written.. :)

  6. Tell us more about it!

Is there any evidence that Hillary killed J.F.K. too?

    tumblr_mqr5wdZQxK1r9txmqo1_250.gif

    Political drama at its finest...
The FBI is ready to indict Hillary Clinton and if its recommendation isn't followed by the U.S. attorney general, the agency's investigators plan to blow the whistle and go public with their findings, former U.S. House Majority leader Tom DeLay tells Newsmax TV.

"I have friends that are in the FBI and they tell me they're ready to indict," DeLay said Monday on "The Steve Malzberg Show."

  7. In America, he is. Single-payer health care, free college, raising taxes on the rich AND the middle class - those pretty much qualify him in this country. In Scandinavia, he'd probably be a moderate. What constitutes super liberal in America to you?

The big challenge with Sanders is the philosophy of expanding the size, power and influence of government radically while at the same time reducing corporate influence and corruption. It may work to some extent in Scandinavia because there is already much better governance and more transparency in the private and public sector probably for cultural reasons. But it would go over like a massive catastrophe in the US. The president may mean well and be honest and trustworthy at heart but that doesn't translate to being trusted to act effectively to reduce the grip of special interests at all levels of government. More layers of bureaucracy between the people and the service is only going to mean more loopholes for the bad guys to find a way around. The only way to decrease influence on government is to give corporations and lobbyists less government to influence. Of course none of the candidates are actually proposing specifics on downsizing government and even if they were it is very unlikely they realize the full depth of the problem and have a real plan for taking it down a notch or two. :(
  8. That is BEYOND untrue. She has NO legal issues - that's total media fabrication bullshit. The CIA's already stated this numerous times and in fact has claimed Trey Gowdy falsified documents in attempt to frame her. If Hillary has "legal issues" then George W. Bush should be serving a life sentence for war crimes. People will believe ANYTHING the media tells them and it never ceases to boggle my mind.

It is pretty obvious with everything that has been leaked so far that the F.B.I. has concluded there is overwhelming evidence of criminal wrongdoing on the part of Hillary Clinton, and that they will strongly recommend that the Justice Department pursue an indictment.for willful mishandling of national security information, including Top Secret and higher, as well as acceptance of contributions to the Clinton Foundation by foreign governments in return for favorable rulings by the State Department. Then Obama has a big decision to make..Action not to take up indictment may insure the election of Donald Trump. At the very least, it is going to destroy her presidential ambitions.

  9. Hillary has grave legal issues that could totally prevent her from continuing her campaign, like felonious and criminal corruption in the highest echelons of the US government, but she has never cried misogyny as far as I know. So a Bloomberg independent candidacy would almost certainly hurt her more than the Republicans since it would give left leaning folks an outlet to push their ideas with someone who is not soiled with that sleaze). Although I doubt he would get in to be a spoiler. If a self avowed socialist is the candidate running against two billionaires, who knows ? Sometimes it really does feel like science fiction come to life. :)

  10. She endorsed Gen. Wesley Clark in 2004. Had an open letter on her Madonna.com and even granted him an audience at her home.

Clark was definitely the most serious and engaged Madonna has ever seemed about a candidate, and the first time she made an endorsement during the primary process. I know she was also planning a fund raiser at her LA home but he probably dropped out before it could happen ??

  11. Just out of curiousity, but does Madonna historically only start endorsing after the Democratic nominee has been chosen or does she also endorse a candidate during primaries as well?

Update: I saw that she endorsed Hillary during the 2008 Primaries so I guess it's probably the same this time around.

Didn't she label Hillary as 'angry' during that Buzzfeed word association game ? Personally I predict a non endorsement since all the criminal charges hanging over her + Sanders + likely early losses and other candidates getting in is going to be a massive trap that even a Clinton won't be able to escape this time. :)

  12. Like Chelsea Clinton put it "I’m best friends with Ivanka for Ivanka, not for her parents or any other part of her life." But who knows, she could still secretly be voting for Trump. She has had too many issues cleaning up corruption at the Clinton Foundation and knows more than anyone how deep the family garbage really is.

  13. I think she's drunk :D

She keeps swearing and yelling at the reporters in the press box.

I think she was just nervous....Actually I'm mildly impressed she would put herself on the line against Cruz in a way that his supporters are feeling genuinely hurt and deeply betrayed this morning (...and it is sincere disappointment, I know way too many of them )

  14. I certainly hope when Bernie wins the Dem nomination, all of you will just come into this thread to FEEL THE BERN. We get it, Hillary will lose. It's going to change shit.

The Revolution isn't going to come. Sanders has all of these grandiose ideas, but he has no sense of how to implement them effectively. His record in Congress is proof of that. He'd be a divider in the Oval Office whereas the country needs a uniter. Fifteen trillion in new spending ? Seriously ? Obama could barely get much, much more modest programs passed and that was with a large Democratic majority. So he'd spend most of his single-term in office tilting at windmills. My prediction. :)

  15. I was just wondering who you guys would prefer to get the Democratic nomination with Hillary vs. Bernie? Even though I'm not American, I will endorse either Hillary or Bernie if they get the nomination. I won't pick between the two because that's up to you Americans to decide. I'm going to be watching the upcoming debate closely and cannot wait! Even though there's been a lot of negativity surrounding her, I'd be happy if Hillary wins. Bernie is obviously the best progressive candidate, however, the establishment may win this battle even though progressives will win overall. I don't think Hillary will be too bad and I say that as someone who from late 2013 until September 2015 experienced the worst Prime Minister in Australian history.

Sanders totally lost whatever respect I had for him with the "damn emails" comment. So Hillary violating countless espionage and public corruption laws as head of a federal agency and throwing our national security on the table for all our enemies to see without a care in the world is perfectly OK as long as most Americans don't seem to care either ??? The Clintons define corrupt elitists who think they are above the law and anyone who enables it is just as uninformed and misdirected as they are. I understand that wasn't necessarily his intention with the line but the way it came out was rather unnerving and telling in a very negative way. Bernie will be changing his tune no doubt if Hillary is indicted and he is the most obvious beneficiary of her dropping out of the race.

  16. Trump has no plan. He has a few sentences which sound good in a debate but mean nothing in the real world. Even his website doesn't address health care.

Trump doesn't have a formal policy statement, for whatever it is worth, on virtually anything. But he has consistently called himself "very liberal" on the health care issue, since at least 1999, and talks passionately about the need to cover all Americans (Obamacare on steroids) so I'm just saying it isn't a position that can be summarily lumped on with other Republicans of going back to where we were before.

"So I’m very liberal when it comes to healthcare. I believe in universal healthcare. I believe in whatever it takes to make people well and better."

"You can't let the people in this country that are the poor people, the people without the money and resources go without healthcare," Trump told the MSNBC program. "I just can't even imagine. You're sick and you can't even go to a doctor. I say one thing, can you not let 25 percent of the people of the country because they have no money go without something?"

  17. I realize Bernie is beloved here, and I am 100% FOR nationalized health insurance but the point this video is making is kind of, well, pointless. If people want to attack Hillary for changing positions and attacking a fellow Democrat (which she is not doing since Bernie isn't a Democrat, he's a self-avowed Socialist - and an Independent in the Senate), they should also attack Obama who turned on Hillary in 2008 and said we don't need an individual mandate for health care reform and then proceeded to win the Presidency and signed a mandate for health insurance into law.

Everyone acts like Hillary is some demon, but Obama's people used Republican tactics to attack her on universal health care, and she is certainly doing something similar to Bernie, but that's politics folks. It's not a sand box for kids. And even if Clinton or Bernie wins, we're not getting single payer health care before 2020. The Republicans are not in danger of losing the House until 2022. And they'll NEVER pass a law for socialized health care. So please continue getting your panties in a bunch about an issue which is dead on arrival in the U.S. Congress.

If you can vote, you basically have 2 choices: A Democratic President that will keep (and hopefully improve) the Affordable Care Act, or a GOP President that will dismantle it and take us back to what we had before. Good luck.

Except that Trump's assurance, repeated again and again is that he will make sure every person in the country has health insurance, and that he will do it in a way that lowers rates for most Americans. And, he claims, he would do this in a way that actually lowers costs over the long term. Instead of the universal care he was touting in 2000 this new "radical reform" sounds like a suspiciously similar version of Obamacare (as it was promised). It's going to be a private plan and people are going to be able to go out and negotiate great plans with different competition with lots of competitors with great companies and they can have their doctors, they can have plans, they can have everything. Just trust me. It's going to be terrific :)

In order to help the poorest 25% of the population he'd "make a deal with existing hospitals to take care of people." Which sounds a lot like Medicaid except most doctors don't accept it so he would presumably have to drive a harder bargain (either that or get Mexico to pay for it.)

  18. It will be interesting to see how this plays out if El Chapo is extradicted to the states to face drug trafficking charges. Sean will have a fun decision to cooperate with prosecutors or possibly be a major witness against him at trial. Although honestly I don’t see how this is so different than the interviews with Bin Laden in hiding (one just a few weeks after 9/11) or Snowden or any number of fugitives that have talked to the media on the run. Except that Penn is a gonzo journalist which means he doesn’t have immunity and aiding and abetting statues may come into play in that case ??

  19. No, actually I haven't witnessed any alarming rates of unassimiliated immigrants. Why because a few commit terrorist acts? The majority of people I know from other countries who have come here love America, because it gave them an opportunity for a better life, better job opportunities and freedom from religious fundamentalism and wars. Actually, a lot of immigrants I know are more American than me and would make a much better President than I would!

Trump bringing this up to me seems like it's part of his general theme that immigrants are bad, the enemy and are going to betray America when in reality they love America as much as if not more than the people that were born here for most part.

I'm not saying any immigrant should be able to run for President, just those who choose to become citizens and have lived in the US for a certain period of time.

It is important that the issue be aired now because some officials in Democrat states would no doubt try to leave him off the ballot as ineligible. Then Cruz would have to sue to be put on, and that could drag on through the election and beyond. The Supreme Court wouldn't touch the case until after the election in any case.

PS Ted Cruz and John McCain are different issues. Even though neither was technically born on US soil; Cruz had at least one American parent, and McCain was born on a US-controlled base (if not US-controlled land).

Cruz had at most one American parent, presuming his mother didn't renounce her American citizenship to become a naturalized Canadian. His father had taken on Canadian nationality at the time and American only after his birth. I simply don’t believe that someone as educated and passionate about the law as Ted Cruz would not know that Canada considered him a citizen given that almost all nations in the Americas have birthright citizenship. That should be covered in an undergrad International Law class. The rather tangled and contentious circumstances with facts still not fully established is exhibit A why the Founders were concerned a child that grows up in a household with split loyalties he will retain some of that divided loyalty even unconsciously as an adult.

  20. People under 26 vote in very small numbers - and even smaller in primaries - so this would be very difficult to imagine - no matter what the make up of his rallies. Though, you are correct that the polls definitely do not reflect the enthusiasm among this demographic. But are they even registered to vote?

Although millennials voted in 2008 and 2012 at about the percentage of the general population, and with free college and student debt relief initiatives now part of the package, who knows ?, all of the undercards are going to be a bit of unknown territory. Sanders' socialism could end up having more appeal than Clinton's plan for affordable college within a capitalist system. Then again as taxpayers, this age group may begin to grasp the concept that everything labeled free is in actuality paid for by somebody and is a subsidy, nothing more than a redistribution of the property of some to others more favored by the selecting power. Personally I don't think appeals to the youth vote are going to be major presidential issues, particularly if there is another severe economic downturn. :newspaper:

  21. I've been thinking, Bernie Sanders has a really good chance at getting the nomination. I know what the polls are saying, but a lot of those polls only include those who voted in the past two presidential elections. That means that people under 26 are not being counted. Millenials are one of his biggest demographics and Hillary seems to be getting nervous trying to be misleading and condescending about him and his positions/plans. People thought Hillary Clinton was inevitable in 2008 and that turned out to be very untrue. I think Bernie Sander's base and willingness to vote have been extremely underestimated and I'm started to seriously think he will become the 45th President of the United States.

I'm really looking forward to see what happens since it's a little more exciting than following the 2016 Australian General election haha

Sanders could still be leading in New Hampshire and within distance of Clinton in Iowa so he will win a few states but I think his chances of garnering the nomination require something happening to Clinton. Probably less than 5 percent honestly, Trump maybe 40-50%. Although we've been saying all year voters get more pragmatic the closer they are to the vote so I'm also anything but confident in these predictions... :)
