  1. So much negativity this go around. I don't understand the increasing condescension against Madonna, her music and her recent tours. I believe the criticism of Madonna 2015 to be largely misplaced. Her shows are fantastic. Her new music is really good. Her promotion this era has been stellar. As for record sales... Hell, nobody sells records anymore. Even Taylor Swift's numbers are a flash in the pan against Like a Virgin, True Blue, Like a Prayer and The Immaculate Collection. Digitized music crept in and changed the landscape. Not to dwell on the past however.... Madonna has sold a lot of records since the Immaculate Collection as well. People steal music now at a exponential rate and not just Madonna's music. It is destroying the whole industry. Yes. The live stage shows are pricey. Inflated ticket prices are meant to compensate for that loss of album revenue. Should M work for free? Do you? Rebel Heart cost a chunk of change to produce. 40+ demos, and 24 official songs including Autotune Baby. Mixing/production, promotion, co-producers, artwork.... That wasn't free. A lot of people have to get paid, not just M. So why all of the hate. Admittedly, there are M records and tours that I like more than others but none of M's work is "trash" and it is offensive to listen to a bunch of squabbling "children" dismissing M's impressive visual and audio catalog. Sticky and Sweet and MDNA were mind blowing, breathtaking, heart stopping productions. In fact, all of Madonna's tours have been masterpieces and I am baffled by the onslaught of personal attacks. I cannot believe the homophobic, ageist, sexist remarks that are being made by Madonna's "fan"base with the aim to discredit her as a relative artist in 2015. In my opinion, this behavior is very disturbing and does not have a place on a fan site. People are bashing an upcoming tour over a handful of rumors and I might remind you that you do not have to purchase a single ticket. Stop demeaning Madonna's work present and past. Despite, your desire to bemoan her every breath, M's accomplishments and accolades stand tall. Sorry to the real fans but the naysayers need to have a seat. Enough already. I want to enjoy my visits to this site. I want to share experiences and be reminded why I am a fan of the world's greatest living entertainer. Shove the negativity where the sun doesn't shine.

:order: THIS! You hit the nail on the head! And I find it very brave of you to express your opinion on here in this thread. A lot of people may take it for granted but this is honestly what we should go by. I find it very sad that apparently commercial success seems to be more important than her making great music. RH is a great great great album and you can tell she put a damn lot of effort in it. I'll be more than happy if the majority of the tour will be songs of this album. I'll take a hits-heavy tour too but not with at least one teary eye.

  2. I hate the fact that people are so overly biased and ignorant towards Rebel Heart. The album lyrically is Madonna at her honest and most vulnerable since AL or even ROL. The music does not sound as dated as her last two records and is still a really nice progression for her. It mixes the best of her last decade imo. Yes, with that I mean both sides. Holy Water and S.E.X. too. They're essential to the album, which without them would be boring as fuck.

Everyone who tells me that this album is shit is nothing but lying and pressed as hell bitch.

  3. It's annoying how 'literally' some people think sometimes. Yes the theme will be romance but that's just it, it's a theme not an admission that it's going to be 90 minutes of love songs. Same with the Instagram songs she has mentioned, it's just promo, building hype for the tour but some people seem to have this unwavering obsession that it's the guaranteed set list.

    :order:

According to this French website, she is going to do La Vie en Rose. I don't know about that one. Not really what I'm looking forward to. But I guess it fits the romance theme.

    http://www.news-of-madonna.com/Madonna-chante-la-plus-romantique-des-chansons-francaises-pour-le-Rebel-Heart-Tour-_a569.html

Okay, they're either bullshitting us OR she's gonna do this one as a medley as well. I can't see her wasting more space with yet ANOTHER cover song.

English translation of "La Vie en Rose"

With eyes which make mine lower,

A smile which is lost on his lips,

    That's the unembellished portrait

Of the man to whom I belong.

When he takes me in his arms

He speaks to me in a low voice,

I see life as if it were rose-tinted.

He whispers words to declare to me his love

    Words of the everyday

And that does something to me.

He has entered into my heart

    A piece of happiness

the cause of which I know full well.

It's him for me, me for him in life

He said that to me, swore to me "forever".

And as soon as I see him

    So I feel in me

    My heart which beats

May the nights on which we make love never end,

A great joy which takes its place

The trouble, the grief are removed

Content, content to die of it

When he takes me in his arms

He speaks to me in a very low voice,

I see life as if it were rose-tinted.

He whispers words to declare to me his love

    Words of the everyday

And that does something to me.

He has entered into my heart

    A piece of happiness

the cause of which I recognise.

It's him for me, me for him in life

He said that to me, swore to me forever.

And as soon as I see him

So do I feel in me

    My heart which beats

    Illuminati

    Bitch Im Madonna

    Body Shop

The ENTIRE show is obviously NOT going to be about romance with all cutesy love songs lol. Her shows are always multy-layered and have different themes. How do Iconic, Illuminati, Bitch I'm Madonna, Sorry, etc. fit the "Romance theme". She herself said that the album is about being her ROMANTIC side vs. her REBEL side.

  5. That setlist seems very fake to me. Between the Bars and American Life don't go together. Very unlikely she is going to start off with four relatively unknown songs like that. A lot of the other stuff seems like fan wishes.

The 30 songs that were on Madonnatribe sound believable to me. Most likely the setlist will be taken from those songs.

    I don't think it's real either, lol...

However your arguement really doesn't work here:

She kicked off S&S with three fairly uknown songs. Candy Shop, Beat Goes On and Human Nature. MDNA with Girl Gone Wild, Revolver, Gang Bang, a medley of a 90 second long PDP and an unrecognizeable version of HU before going into IDGA and closing the section with a remix of Best Friend. :lmao: Actually, do Hung Up and PDP go well together? I don't think so...It really depends on the theatrics, imo. If she serves great visuals the crowd will love it and that setlist still includes tons of classics, although I'm afraid a lot of people will be pissed at those medleys and mashups.

  6. Well, it's because Demo Castellon did the mastering/mixing again. He really is the most amateurish idiot she has ever worked with imo.

The funny part is, that he mixes her voice the same way he mixes the vocals of his wife, Nelly Furtado who sounds like a squirrel most of the time. That results in him putting the emphasis of the vocals on the high notes which takes away the volume of her voice and makes it sound very thin. There's a fan made mix of L4L on M-Infinity which uses her unmixed demo vocals and my GOD it sounds fucking amazing!!!

  7. Honey, you do realize it's the hits that made her Madonna, right? She wasn't born famous. The hits made her a superstar. Her mastery of the music industry and her own public image made her the biggest star in the world, but she'd never have had the chance without the hits.

And, yeah, it's pretty fucking clear that she needs hits in order to sell tickets today. The Drowned World Tour is the greatest live show she's ever done, but this isn't 2001. She was all over the radio, all over TV, on every magazine cover. Critics were lauding everything she released and she was being showered with awards. She sold out every show on that tour in minutes of tickets going on sale -- and months before the setlist was made clear.

This time around, what do you see? Most every show has thousands of unsold tickets, after months of release. She needs the hits because she needs the media to trumpet this tour as a stunning return to form after they all shit on her for the MDNA Tour. At this point, positive press and good word of mouth (both in person and on social media) from opening night and other early shows is the only thing that's going to move those unsold tickets.

    They shit MDNA?

1st of all, the reason things were better sales-wise was because she bundled album pre-orders with concert tickets. MDNA was never meant to be promoted because it was nothing but an album that delivered material for her to tour. With RH she was aiming for success and failed due to ageism and the rush release. Apart from that, her L4L performances weren't that great, unfortunately and all those promo performances were pretty low-scale. With MDNA she had the Super Bowl to tease for the tour and that's what made it sell so well. The tour was also very well-received from what I remember.

She has SO many hits, she seriously can't perform them all and do new material. All she can do is a good mix of every decade, which still has a chance of happening with this tour if we assume that not all her posts relate to stuff that is ACTUALLY going to make the cut. Once the tour kicks off, ticket sales will probably increase. However, the real problem are the prizes. If her tickets weren't so expensive, she could sell out every time she hits the road.

Probably an IP change or something. They both posted the exact same pic in one of the picture threads apparently (and have the same posting 'style')

You sound a little bit obsessed, dear.
  8. Wasn't MPowered flushed?

I don't know why he keeps dropping that name but if he wants to call me that, I'll let him.

Anyway, I do think it will be a good show, visually, at least. Who knows what Mike Dean will do with her 80's song. I hope he gives them a great update! If I end up liking it, your prediction may be true and I will sing my heart out to Into the Groove hahaha.

  9. Still as deluded as ever 'MPowered'. Living in some little early 00s bubble when Madge was still able to sell out more than one night in London and New York in 5 mins instead of...5 months. This tour will be crammed with hits, now go buy a ticket, there's a good boy/girl.

Kim, do you REALLY think the queen of pop has to play a hits tour in order to sell? :lmao: Bitch, she's Madonna :queenbitch: Ticket sales will soar once the news report about the tour and once the concert footage and pictures are revealed. This tour is gonna be HUGE and no, she doesn't need to play the hits. Most casual fans don't even look up the setlist beforehand.
  10. The people complaining about old hits havent even purchased tickets...NEXT!!!

Yes, and for a good reason. I'm 20 yo and I go to university, meaning I don't get paid enough to be as spontaneous as some of the 40yo in here (the majority) spending their money to see her like 20 times...Therefore I'll wait and see if it REALLY is worth the money. I mean it would be either way, but still...it's a hell lot of money.

I am not a big fan of Holiday, Like a Virgin and a lot of the singles released before LAP, just as you are not a fan of the new album. Sorry, but that's just not the time period I enjoy much musically or I'm simply annoyed by them bc they're overplayed and just aren't as good live as they were back in the days. I do bop to them but I really don't feel they'll get me as hyped up as NRM, Take a Bow, Vogue or some of the other 90's/00's songs could.

That AND the reason that I may not be able to afford it are what make me reconsider this decision a lot. If I don't go, I could get the DVD at least, but then again if it includes a lot of the songs I just don't enjoy it's even worth less than the concert ticket. I hope you get my point of view...of course you guys don't have to agree but one could at least expect a certain degree of respect. Especially, since we all know Madonna's fanbase consists of a people in their teens to people in their 60s.

  11. When are you jokers gonna realise that without the "general public" there will BE NO MADONNA TOURS?

What's that she said about the possibility of a fan-oriented b-sides/rare tracks tour? "Who's gonna pay my overheads" That about sums it up.

Keep slavishly nodding your heads to... Body Shop tango version, while the rest of the world jumps and sings to Holiday and Like a Prayer.

Oh, I will and I will love every single one of the RH tracks. If I wanna hear Holiday or LAP on tour I can always pull out my DWT and S&S DVDs and watch them. :queenbitch:

People who are stuck in the 80's need to realize that she's never gonna do a full on GH tour because her current music always tends to be a reflection of her current state of mind and aesthetic. I feel like DWT really traumatized a few individuals on here lol...

  12. Yes, it seems that we have most of the songs from the setlist, but we're not sure which of those might be interludes and which are songs that will be actually performed.

I think Behind the Bars would be better as an Interlude than actually singing it. That looks actually very simiiar to the written setlist someone posted except it didn't have the Power of Goodbye/Secret thing, which seems like it might be an interlude also. Although I love POG, I can't see her singing it live.

The list posted above is in chronological order.

I still believe that some of the songs she posted were alternatives for each other or just considerations. Judging from the promo clips and her posts it seems we're getting another gypsy-like section with:

(Between the Bars - Interlude) <- she posted a video still and tagged it with this so it seems likely

    (Devil Pray)

(Rebel Heart) <- would work very well thematically

    Deeper and Deeper

    Who's That Girl

    Body Shop
