I think Medellin represented much better the album than God Control would have.
Plus she didn't really write God Control. I was actually disappointed when I realized that the first and politically most offensive part of the song had been written by Casey Spooner. The line "a new democracy, god and pornography" is very funny though and 100% Madonna.
The production and the song structure are really great but they come obviously more from Mirwais than from her.
Actually I feel much more the "real Madonna" (the fragile one of ROL or AL ballads, the erotic and humerous one of Erotica etc) in Medellin than in God Control which is a very good song but as a first single it would become a failed attempt to do another "Hung Up" ("I'm giving to my fan base the pop-disco hit they expect me to deliver").
I am glad she did not repeat herself and tried something really new with Medellin.
Mirwais wrote the lyrics, Casey just changed a few words to make it sound more “American”.

I love this album more 1 year later and I loved it when it first came out. It still sounds so fresh and new to me, the era doesn't feel over.

Love this song so much, never got it when people said they don't like it.

Official French Radio Edit:
Also: where are the remixes??? We know they are ready sitting on a computer somewhere.
It’s sad this is official as the edit point is really bad and not even in time.

So is it safe to say this is an official single? It wasn't very clear. The Kue remix is great, definitely adding that to my playlist.

World of Madame X removed from amazon prime?
I wonder if this is because they'll be putting it on the Madame X tour dvd / blu ray release?

You don't, I do and many others. God control could have been a greats song if someone had the guts to say Madonna calm down girl with the whispering of the same thing while are u singing also the same thing, and give music same space, why do we need to hear your whispering all the time...give song space and time to breathe
Again, I have no issue with the whispering, I've never once thought "oh she's overdone it with the whispering", each to their own, but considering many fans adore this song, suggests it's a good song.

no it is not. It is tiered and overproduced. It worked very well on Impressive instant (one my fave Madonna songs)but this god control is just overproduced noise that had potental just like the video..but is over literal (video) and full of noise and everything (song).
there are 100 times better songs on that album like extreme Occident, killers and IDSIF
This... is not it. God Control is a disco banger, the overproduced noise you talk of, I don't hear it.

Erm, is it 1990? I'm in love with this look.

I'm so happy for her! I really hope she uses this as an opportunity to get a remix compilation out or something. I'd love a compilation like Depeche Mode's 2x remix compilations.
-
I'm happy for her, and happy that a song from Madame X is responsible for this Grammy, I'm also pleased to learn Madonna was actually involved in the remix, so I think it's fine to say this award applies to Madonna.

Oh my god! I was fantasising this release walking to work today!!!! Chose the same mixes, apart from Medellin......can’t decide which would work best
Great minds! Hopefully this is something that could happen, but at this point I think we were lucky to get I Rise on vinyl.

I would love an RSD remix EP including the 3 bonus tracks:
1.) Medellin (Offer Nissim Madame X In The Sphinx)
2.) I Rise (Thomas Gold Remix)
3.) Crave (Tracy Young Dangerous Remix)
4.) I Don't Search I Find (Craig Cs Found Vocal)
5.) God Control (Whatever we know what the best remix is)
6.) Funana
7.) Back That Up
8.) Ciao Bella -
It's Tracey and Benassi for me, I hope this gets a vinyl release like I Rise.

I'm not sure the bright, peppy voice belongs to Madonna. Vocal manipulation aside, it just doesn't sound like her voice in the slightest. I would love to be proven wrong!

I actually thought it was sampled from truth or dare for a good week after hearing God Control.

This is when iTunes Match comes in handy for me, in fact, the vast majority of her back catalogue has been uploaded to my iCloud because they aren't available to stream.

Isn't RSD in springtime?
There’s a Black Friday version of RSD

Is this true???? When? Can it be pre-ordered?????
It's for RSD Black Friday apparently. With it getting a physical release I think it's safe to say it's an official single surely?

Madonna can easily get that number to 50 number 1's once Crave remixes hit the clubs and either release God Control remixes or wait until she releases a new track on whatever compilation we're supposedly getting next year.

Yay for I Rise rising to the top!!!!
We are now ready for the Crave remixes! Get that 49th Number 1, girl!
Yes! I'm so happy for her, and I'm sure she can get Crave to number 1. She needs to release one more single to get 50 before she wraps up this era!

I keep seeing remix cd's like these on ebay? i'm guessing someone made them? are there not going to be offical ones like RH era Ghosttown, and Living for love?
I think that one is fake, but the one below is real, it's a shame these aren't getting a mainstream release, there's obviously a market for them.

I took her saying that he had to be more specific like she was thinking "I dare you bitch. Ask the fuckin' question. I double dog dare ya.""
Oh this is exactly what she meant by this, she was ready, she would have ripped him to shreds had he carried on.

A few months later, some time off from listening so fresh ears:
God Control
I Don't Search I Find
I Rise
Extreme Occident
Crave
Medellin was in my original top 5, I still love it though!
-
Surely this radio edit isn't real? There's no way an edit that bad could be given then okay? This is worst than anything on Celebration! You can hear the first millisecond of the next line!
I love the intro on the album but for the purpose of the radio they could surely just go straight to the disco strings intro ? Since the intro verse is repeated in the outro anyway.
'God Control' should have been the first single from Madame X

Casey posted on his Instagram the original opening speech he received from Mirwais, it was basically a bit clunky and Mirwais asked him to "American-ise" it. He got dragged on the post because he basically revealed he didn't actually do that much.
