  1. All these comments made me play the album at this very moment!! It certainly is her best album, IMO.

I remember being 9 when it was released and how everyone just LOVED everything she did during that time. It was my sister who bought the cassette and played it non-stop. I remember watching for the first time all the videos when they were premiered on MTV and both of us were like 'WOW, this is my new favorite track!' She was SOOOOO respected at that time and she was so cool, she made the news all the time!

Just a curious fact: Frozen, My Heart Will Go On and Getting' Jiggy With It were in the Top 3 of MTV's most requested videos for months, my sister and me had fun trying to guess which one would be #1!

  2. Exactly! Just think that over half of the European gigs last time around were markets she was performing in for the very first time. Eastern Europe anyone? Half of the second leg in 2009 was basically the Madonna first ever in Eastern Europe. And despite not being rich countries she raked in considerable money from them. And even for MDNA, $3m for a concert in Poland is huge considering the financial profile of that country and the general living conditions

She's doing great! This time around she's visiting a lot of US cities she hasn't since almost The Virgin Tour!! I think a lot of Americans are doing what Europeans did with S&S: watching The Queen live for the very first time!

So having said that, I'm not worried at all about her Boxscore numbers...she'll probably have the biggest tour of 2012 by the end of the year.

  3. Huge numbers, considering she milked the European market with S&S. I had a lot of friends going because they wanted to experience a Madonna tour. Also, we should take into account that she visited some cities for the first time in years or for the very first time.

I went to Madrid's concert back then and it was ALL OVER the media, every TV channel was there and lots of celebrities, so it was seen like this huge summer event...it was her first time there in almost 20 years!

  4. Wow, big numbers...this was just released:

"The tour, which began May 31 in Tel Aviv, has grossed $115,701,909, with attendance of 985,340 to 33 shows, according to Billboard Boxscore. For North America, Madonna has sold $111 million in tickets for 44 shows in the U.S. and Canada, according to Arthur Fogel, chairman of Live Nation Global Touring and producer of Madonna's tours"

    Message 2 Australian fans

Try some US date if you have the money/time/possibility. It's so worth it!!

Trivia: During the video intro to TUTR in Zurich, the guy standing behind us started to pee, TO PEE, into his empty glass. My sister couldn't believe it, she pushed everyone around us and when they realized what happened everyone wanted to kill him, I can tell you. There was a couple with two kids next to him...I thought the father was going to punch him in the face, he deserved it. My revenge: once the concert was finished and pretending it was just an accident I kicked all the pee-filled glass into his feet...be careful where you leave it next time, BITCH! his face...

  6. the cheapest ticket you could buy officially was about 190CH.. roughly 160euros? and it only went up from there. however it looked packed to me.

also, why is everyone quiet about the fact that she started SO early? and the happy birthday moment with sean? rehearsals with the fan diego? i hope some clips will pop up soon :)

Yeah I know right? When Martin finished at 8pm I told my sister not to expect her until an hour and a half later, but when the show started at 8.30 I was shocked! You could almost see the sun up in the sky!!

  7. @lechatjaune, your pics are amazing, seems you had a nice place. Great for you.

Hey, thank you! We were very close to the pit of the triangle, in the GC...my sister couldn't believe she was watching MADONNA that close! In her own words: 'She's that kind of person you think doesn't exist, but she's real!! And she's there!! In front of me!!!' hahahah We had an amazing time!! :)

About the empty seats...the stadium looked packed the moment it started. Some said it wasn't completely sold out because resellers on the street were having problems selling tickets as some official tickets were still available...anyway, she gave an amazing performance! That's all that matters!!

  8. Hey we just arrived from the concert and WOW...what a night to remember guys!!

Overall it she was in a very political mood: she showed her 'tattooed' arms during Turn Up The Radio (which by the way dedicated to them). Then, during her speech about love, respect and freedom she said, joking, that she was about to create this organization called 'F.F.F.U.' (Freedom Fighters For Unity) and said that this time around Switzerland couldn't stay neutral, which made the crowd laugh out loud. Then she said 'No more Swiss cheese then' that was received even better!! :)

Just before Like A Virgin, people in the Golden Circle started to chant 'MADONNA' a few times, she then turned around and instead shouted 'FREE PUSSY RIOT' quite a few times until all the stadium was chanting with her. It was a very special and touching moment I must say...

The crowd went wild with Like A Prayer, and Papa Don't Preach, Express Yourself and Vogue had a very good reaction from people too. The rest of the songs were well received but not so many people seemed to know them (except maybe for Girl Gone Wild, Turn Up The Radio and Celebration, but maybe it was only in my area). I was surprised by the lack of enthusiasm for Open Your Heart, being the classic that it is...I think the new arrangement has something to do with it, I don't know! Overall people seemed to love it...my sister and friends did!!

On a side note, I saw Guy taking pictures of the crowd during Martin's session (which was great btw)

I'll try to upload some photos that I took. We were in the GC so some of them are pretty cool!

  9. Hi everyone! I'm new here even though I've been reading this forum for months now! I'm attending tomorrow's concert too with my sister and some friends of her...so excited!! I've already attended the MDNA Tour in Barcelona and I had the time of my life :sassy: It was my second time seeing Madonna (first was S&S 2009 in Madrid) and I went with some friends who are casual fans...they were blown away by this amazing tour! They couldn't believe the were watching M live!! hahaha

We have GC tickets...we'll probably be there by 5pm I think...have fun everyone!!
