It’s our gypsy blood...
I remember jumping from my couch the first time I heard that.
And then when the beat drops after she says, We shake hands with our fate...
In god control, When the beat drops and the funky guitar comes in and she screams A new demo-cra-cy!!
That whole outro is at the level of Hung Up. I teared up the first time I heard it.

This goes to show how important it is for every person to vote in your country’s elections, haha. Had I voted, EO would’ve displaced LFM. Thank you @Curtains! A really fun idea to do a live results show.

Biggest surprise for me is Mercy being so high. I guess I’m not in an asking-for-forgiveness mood lately
I’m glad Crave and Crazy rose above other songs that seem to get more buzz in here! Those are my faves, other than GC, IDSIF, and EO.

Why do we all need to think as one? Is a forum a place for discussion or a militant space where we all come and get our talking points about each aspect of our fandom?
(Not to mention, some of the people berating a member or two for respectfully asking questions and giving their opinion are literally complaining about SJWs and related dummies’ authoritarianism in other threads.)
Unreal.
I enjoyed the performance so much! Can’t believe she’s going to serve AL and Vogue on this tour, I am thrilled. The set list would’ve been stronger with another crowd pleaser and IDSIF, but oh well. Los Angeles cannot come soon enough.

I’m playing with a track list that doesn’t front load the experimental stuff. But i have unknowingly front loaded the features and the Portuguese tracks! Still, this flow is more enjoyable to me:
Medellin
faz gostoso
future
crazy
Killers
batuka
ciao bella
Dark ballet
god control
come alive
Extreme occident
crave
i don’t search
I rise
funana

Hard to believe it’s only been a week since the record was released. It has already become part of my life, I quote it all the time, and there is a song for every freaking occasion.
My faves keep changing but at the moment Crazy, IDSIF, Ciao Bella, Killers are up there. Then again, I was blasting Faz Gostoso in the car yesterday and I moved it up on the track list to be track #2, after Medellin. There is just a lot to enjoy, despite how serious and urgent it is. I don’t find the record angry or jaded, but rather cathartic and hopeful. Only Madonna.

Wait!! Only 4 songs?? Ok that’s a shitty setlist. Exempt Vogue off course.
Yes. That was actually a big reason why some started worrying about how this will be received (because Kylie Mino-one apparently did a big long concert last year at this event). If you’re only going to be on stage for 20 minutes, are Future and American Life worth including... we’ll see, I guess!
I do hope that she’s doing the remix version for I Rise, at least. And hopefully a nice remix for American Life also.

So what is the real setlist? Or we don’t know yet?
I don’t remember the order but I Rise, American Life, Vogue, and Future. This is what we know at this point.

I think this could work on tour.

It’s really not that difficult. It’s a fucking Pride event. Mind boggling.

Okay everything was awesome until that last bit................ My stomach turned. It might be incredible or truly horrible depending on how it’s handled.
On a sunnier note, I had no idea the lady knew how to drive a car, haha.

I posted a review in that Metracritic page. I love the album so much that I only had to explain how much I like it. I think we all should post our review there. It 's so great that this album is being enjoyed by so many fans!
I posted one on Amazon, lol. I felt very early 2000s. But like you say, it was easy because the album is that good.

A phenomenal cover, totally surprised! Wonderful song.
Now, what would be the point of covering a hit and inviting Anitta of all people if she’s not planning on releasing a video? Sounds foolish. I’m holding out hope that they are going to figure something out.

I’ve cried tears of joy over both, but I’m more emotionally attached to IDSF since it takes me back to Erotica, and parts of the Confessions tour.

i find it difficult to put rankings, numbers or grades to her work but what will say is that between probably 1986-2005 what M did better than any other artist (certainly within popular music) was tell a story with her albums, they were as close to literature as popular music can get. No one did the creation of an album and the crafting of a complete body of work better than Madonna but that started to slip a little with Hard Candy, there were elements of it but it was mostly a collection of good pop songs.
MDNA though I feel it is underrated as a collection was the nadir of this aspect of her talent because other than the late second half of the record, it was literally a handful of dance tracks that she sang over and sounded a little detached from.
RH is a curious one because there are several stories to be told but it's uneven and uncohesive. That said, the stories on offer are deeply compelling and with more streamlined production, a more careful eye over what made the final tracklisting and no leaks hindering her ultimate vision, it could have ranked among her top tier works. I think the difference between MDNA and RH is that she had something to say.
Madame X is a revelation because she has once again, recorded a great novel so to speak. This ranks alongside erotica, bedtime stories, ray of light and confessions because it is a body of work, a statement and it's uncompromised. In short, it's a true Madonna ALBUM.
Nothing left to add, haha. Agreed.
May the RH demos be properly released someday!

I don't think she needs it either, but that she could have one.
And it's not about Cher's age imo, but that she was that age AND had been out of the charts for at least eight years. But again, I don't give a either way. It was just an observation. I do hope as many people as possible get to appreciate God Control for the masterpiece that it is, and unlike others I always hold out hope. I was once 20 and fell in love with Madonna singing about soy lattes...
-
IMO with a nice remix that essentially restructures the song to be a bit more predictable she’d be all set for her Believe moment...
-
For this audience, I'd go with Crave. Keep it simple.
-
I absolutely love this song. It’s a mood.

Happy to spend the price of a drink ($5 on Amazon) on an extra copy of Madame X. I’m not one to do that shit but this album deserves as much exposure as it can get.

I am so in love with this album. It’s serious but not dark. It’s uplifting but not mindless/fluffy. It’s peaceful yet also combative. To me it encapsulates our era perfectly. There is so much to be hopeful about, and yet it also feels like it’s all falling apart... She’s been talking and mulling over these themes since the MDNA tour (remember the secret project interview, or some of her speeches during that tour), and it’s finally blossomed into an exuberant, decadent, freewheeling album.
