Yes, okay. Now I understand. Pray it doesn't come to that.

I realize he's trying to fight these radicals but do you believe the new travel/iimmigration restrictions will enrage them into commiting more terror attacks?

Could you explain what you mean? On a side note, why can we no longer reply to partial quotes?

Yikes Kurt, that's quite a revealing post. Alluding to some sort of violent insurrection to remove newly elected President in order to get your way, are we? Go ahead and deny it but it's obvious. Keep posting stuff like this cause the internet is forever. I truly hope the new admin will compromise with the Democrats and find some balance in the years ahead. Not as a response to threats but because it's the right thing for the country as a whole.

@svperstar i read the article you posted last night. I've seen some of the chaos at the airports online and it seems like there is some confusion to how this should be applied. It's a mess for sure! I found this info: " Another Homeland Security official told CNN the green card holders who are returning to the US will still go through additional screening and national security checks upon landing. However, the government is trying to ease their entry back into the US. Unless they have a significant criminal history or links to terrorism, they will be allowed back in the country after going the check the official said. " " The statement said the Presidential executive order "only applies to individuals travelling from one of the seven named countries." "If you are travelling to the US from anywhere other than one of those countries (for instance, the UK) the executive order does not apply to you and you will experience no extra checks regardless of your nationality or your place of birth. " I'll try to find the direct link again.

I don't reference Obama and Clinton to justify Trumps actions now , but to point out the glaring double standard. Trump wants border enforcement = RACIST! Former Democratic admins saying they want border controls = *crickets * Bombing the living shit out of Muslim countries throughout the Middle East and selling them weapons = silence Restricted entry for several countries because of terrorism issues = Racist If we don't find some common ground between the pro/anti Trump factions this country will be ripped to shreds.

And how do you feel about the 6 month Iraqi refugee ban in 2011? Like I said, I don't think this 'ban' will keep the US any safer. This idea of 'extreme vetting`is also very implausible. Passports can be forged.etc

Of course it's relevant. They didn't pull these 7 countries in question out of thin air. This was based on the order passed by Congress years ago. The top 8 or so countries with the highest Muslim population, like Indonesia etc, aren't affected. https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/pdf/uscode08/lii_usc_TI_08_CH_12_SC_II_PA_II_SE_1187.pdf 2011 US stopped processing all applications for Iraqi refugees for a six-month time period

I for one don't see how this temporary restriction will make the US much better off. I thought the same thing a few years ago when a relative in my extended family had some serious visa trouble and wasn't allowed into the US because he'd visited Iraq for two months. Anyway.. When I saw this huge cry out about the Trump admin has done it jogged my memory so I looked it up. Obama signed the Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act as part of an omnibus spending bill. The legislation restricted access to the Visa Waiver Program, which allows citizens from 38 countries who are visiting the United States for less than 90 days to enter without a visa. In February 2016, the Obama administration added Libya, Somali and Yemen to the list of countries one could not have visited — but allowed dual citizens of those countries who had not traveled there access to the Visa Waiver Program. Dual citizens of Syria, Sudan, Iraq and Iran are still ineligible, however. So…wait. Trump signed an executive order enforcing an Obama policy?

Mexico’s government has announced that Presidents Enrique Peña Nieto and Donald J. Trump spent Friday morning on the phone and agreed to not discuss wall payments in public WH Statement: With respect to payment for the border wall, both presidents recognize their clear and very public differences of positions on this issue but have agreed to work these differences out as part of a comprehensive discussion on all aspects of the bilateral relationship.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said on Thursday that Congress was moving ahead with a plan to build a wall on the southern border of the US. He estimated the cost to be between $12 billion and $15 billion.
