I agree. Although it's brought up as being least cohesive, that isn't to say it's a bad album. On the contrary, it's great. I prefer American Life to it, but Music did bring some amazing stuff, like Impressive Instant and Paradise.
I love American Life. It stands as the best Madonna studio album of the last decade for me.

Music was a much ACCLAIMED album for 2000- didn't fare as well on decade-end lists, though. It was a good album- not quite as good or cohesive as ROL, but she reached her pinnacle there in terms of albums (also with LAP).
You don't have to defend Music. We all appreciate something on a given Madonna album. Music had the misfortune of being the follow-up to Ray of Light. It did bring us Mirwais who is my all-time favorite Madonna collaborator after Shep Pettibone.

What I'm saying is that multiple producers are fine if you have a solid direction for the project -- whether it's musical or emotional -- you need a throughline to unify it.Oh, I am not worried per se. After all, Ray of Light started out with a diaspora of various songwriters and producers. I think the end results was amazing.

I still feel like the rumors we have gotten are a little all over the map as far as producers. I wonder if this will be a Bedtime Stories affair with many different collaborators - but no dominant one.
As long as she's set on a unifying musical or emotional theme for the project we should be fine.

I would think most people who do a certain number of films, whether acting, directing, scoring, etc. are members of the Academy.
You have to be invited. I use to believe once you became an Oscar nominee you were automatically in.

She voted for Diane Wiest in Woody Allen's 'Bullets over Broadway' in 1995. So, yes it's old news. I think all it takes is being a member of the actors union & then a couple of people
who are already in need 2 endorse you...But she can't nominate people by herself EroticaBlu.
Obviously others must be in agreement with (some) of your picks for any of them to make it on the ballot.

It means she has voter privilege at The Academy Awards / The Oscars. She can nominated actors, actresses, herself in the acting categories -- she can also nominated Best Picture contenders -- and once the official ballots are done -- she can vote for the winner in any category.

Madonna had one cutting edge album that many here won’t consider cutting edge and that’s American Life – I hate all of you who reject this album – if she would’ve gone further with the themes and sounds she established on this album – OMG we wouldn’t be discuss her being a follower and not a trend setter.

Can I say that I am still amazed how someone like Pharrell who is pushing 40 can still look like he is 16.
I think he has found the fountain of youth, and Madonna is working with him again in hopes of finding out where it is.

As long as they’re not making HC II – there’s no reason for them not work together. Good to hear some music news but let’s remember this is early Madonna new music news – which is very much subject to change at the whim of Madonna.

Mmm... But why did she do it in the first place then? The video got out there anyway, not officially but everyone has and had the chance to see it, it was already on the net back in 2003 and she knew it would just like everything else, it just doesn't make sense to me
As someone who writes, I believe Madonna was seduced by her own ideas. When that happens you’re not interested in running away from them but what its leading you to feels good – you feel like you can move oceans, and truthfully in that mental and spiritual state you can. Once everything was all said and done, you take a step back – look at your creation and realize not only is it not for everyone but this time the consequences aren’t about me, they have far greater reaches.

Why are people judging her decision to pull the video? She has children to protect. Americans (especially the gun toting) are sick, and during that time would make no bones about attempting to harm her or anyone she loved.

I'm a fan of minimalist Madonna. The tracks are given room to breathe. When you tire of the material and then come back it -- usually for me it feels fresher than any of the thickly layered grand productions of her past.
