if it's true that M wanted to perform two new songs, it shows how little she knows of Eurovision. imagine singing GMAYL and GGW at the halftime and ignoring her catalog. her "team" of people are obviously a joke.

Eurovision is perfect for new songs. The audience does not expect to hear something familiar. Every act in the world would prefer to perform songs from their new album, rather than catalog hits. I suspect that the only reason she agreed to doing Like A Prayer is because the final takes place in Israel.

She, Billboard and Mike Dean deserve major credit for how fresh this song is!! Literally mixing acoustic sounds into a trap ballad.  I'm really happy with the positive reaction it's been getting, I don't think she's had a song this moreish since Secret.  Its subtlety works in a way that never lets the song get stale even after repeated listens

The production is tweaked to perfection. It seems simple at first but it has many subtle touches that make the song more addictive with each listen. I have a feeling that all this time they took to finish the album will pay off in a big way.

I hope the album contains ZERO disco bangers or dance stompers if that only means I can see more meltdowns from the snowflakes.

I think this is now a strong possibility. I expect the Mirwais tracks to also have a laid back feel. Something like Robyn's latest album.

Crave should be released only in U.S.A because It's NOT going to be a worldwide hit.

The rest of the world deserves another Madame X representation.

It could definitely work in Europe and worldwide. Check the top streaming tracks in Europe, there're not so much different than in the USA. With radio support it could become a big hit. It makes sense to have this as a second single and bet on it for radio play. Disco bangers and EDM are not doing well at the charts.

I think this might happen because May 10 is when the song is released on iTunes but might not be it's big launch, if that makes sense. Future is still coming to iTunes on the 17th after all. So we might get Crave on the 10th, a Eurovision performance on the 18th, and then the video maybe directly after on the 19th? A simpler video can be edited in two weeks.

If they plan to push Crave in US radio it makes sense to release the video closer to the album release, perhaps even at the same week as the album.

To that end, “Crave” with Swae Lee will become the de facto pop radio single upon its release, with an official music video to soon follow. Meanwhile, “Medellín” -- which received a global television launch across Viacom networks in April -- will continue being pushed in Latin markets. The decision to lead with “Medellín” instead of “Crave” came down to the belief that it was “the signature track to the body of work, and the right place to start telling the story,” says Thompson.

This article verifies that there will be Medellín remixes!

Otherwise it’s just gonna go up for a bit and then slide back down...what I don’t understand is how the song is trending #2 on YouTube (now it’s like 12) and it doesn’t help chart success? It was #2 and #3 with the audio and now video...surely that would mean lots of people are playing it, no?

Its all bullshit. At some point, I’m going to stop caring about the chart success and just enjoy the era for what it is. This def deserves more love and recognition. She’s going for a world music approach and in USA everyone is playing on the Latin market as well so it would’ve seemed a double win (triple when you add MALUMA and he’s also pushing on his insta to stream and play it and it seems to me his fans are NOT doing so) ... 😒🥺

Do not worry so much about the charts. It's doing fine on YouTube. Looks like it will have more views the second day than it did yesterday. Most people will refer to the YouTube views to see if a song is a hit.

His last album sold 99k in January 2014... and debuted #1 in the main markets, five years later and with streaming in the front, should we be worried?

Only if there is a tour bundle. Album sales have collapsed and veteran acts can no longer chart high. Madonna will also need a push from streaming and that's why they will be releasing more tracks from the album in May.

  9. Masterpiece. Stunning visuals that flow with the song. Like when it changes to a red palette for the first chorus. Even the pauses work with the song structure. The editors deserve a huge credit.
